Our CEO Kelly Rossman-McKinney is one of the only certified crisis communicators in Michigan – so it's no surprise the Detroit Free Press asked for her take on the ongoing crisis in Ann Arbor:

"They have made their situation worse by several decisions that should have been much better thought out," said Kelly Rossman-McKinney, the chief executive of Truscott Rossman, a Lansing based public relations firm.
"This would be a big deal even if Hoke was having a winning season. It really shows that, at least, the football team isn't a well-oiled team. It's clear communications internally in the department are a (mess)."

John Truscott on the ongoing mess at U-M: "When the University of Michigan athletic department put out a release in the middle of the night, reporters and editors caught it and weren’t fooled by the “old” trick.  The complete disintegration of the football program was exacerbated by this attempt to hide the concussion story and coaching decisions.  And the digital media folks ate it up – or more accurately, feasted on the athletic department."
