Very interesting view on what the ego actually is.  This seems like an amalgam of traditions.  I think either I am or the author is conflating two ideas of ego, kinda like  HDL vs LDL (Good Cholesterol  vs Bad Cholesterol ).  Nice post thanks.  I'm diggin the idea of a beat down ego being built back up.  I'll explore some more.

This forced obsolescence of hardware and software we find in today's environment is very frustrating, not to mention expensive.  For some of us it is overly burdensome.  But I would not expect the gurus working for Google to have a clue in this regard.  But I can't blame them it is the world we live in.

I have a solid laptop running windows vista.  I manage my websites, without bugs or viruses.  It does everything I need and more--except providing me the ability to use next version of Chrome.

Unfortunately, Microsoft does not provide a clean migration path from Vista to a Google supported operating system.  Microsoft is notorious for abandoning applications and failing to provide backward compatibility to perfectly functioning software.  I'll continue to use Chrome until I can't, then I'll go back to firefox.

I agree. I'm from Argentina - same problem. After all these years and minimal problems already fixed, I HOPE my Avast Antivirus could catch potential virus after april 1st. for my Windows XP and Vista. It's an interesting issue, so let's wait what those companies have to say about it...and how they will hold that pressure from Microsoft and Apple to move onto new technology. I think we should wait so they announce last minute discounts. If we go directly to buy massively right now, they will not feel the need to make any effort to attract us. Just saying. At the end, I was never told I could have no support some day.

One of the things that surprised me is how much information was written about these slaves without calling them slaves. They were called servants, they were staff— but they were slaves. Andrew Jackson’s horse racing operation included slave jockeys. There have been things written about Andrew Jackson and horses and jockeys, but not one mentioned the word “slaves.” They were called employees in all the records.

I've read about slaves building on the grounds of capital hill. I believe the story was released by individuals raising money to build a national African American history museum
near Capital Hill. If I'm wrong please someone come forward and correct me.
