The Trinity cross country and women's volleyball teams, along with their head coaches Bill Schepel, Bob Brickman and area director Lauren Outcalt, are participating in a service trip to Costa Rica through Jan 10, 2017. About 40 strong, these student-athletes, coaches and staff are there doing hurricane relief work and partnering with a local church through the ministry organization Go The Distance. We pray for their safety and dedication during this time.

On Wednesday, Jan. 18, Dr. Kristen Deede Johnson of Western Theological Seminary (Holland, MI) will visit Trinity Christian College to discuss her most recent book, The Justice Calling: Where Passion Meets Perseverance, on Wednesday, January 18. Johnson will speak at the 10 a.m. Chapel service in the Ozinga Chapel and at a 3:30 p.m. public lecture in the Fireside Room of the Administration Building. Both events are free and open to the public.

In The Justice Calling, Johnson (along with co-author Bethany Hanke Hoang) draws the reader into the whole story of Scripture with an invitation to know more intimately the God who loves justice and calls faithful people to seek the flourishing of others. The Justice Calling is a Christianity Today 2017 awarding-winning book and has received wide acclaim.

Johnson, who earned a Ph.D. at the University of St. Andrews, is associate professor of theology and Christian formation at Western Theological Seminary. She teaches and writes in the areas of theology, culture, formation, and political theory.

Johnson’s visit to Trinity kicks off the College’s annual WorldView series. Upcoming speakers include John Cotton Richmond, founder of The Human Trafficking Institute; Tim Brown, retired Director of Music at Clare College, Cambridge University; and Rahsaan Graham, Sector Director of Child Protection & Education at World Vision. Additional speakers will be announced at a later date. For full schedule when it becomes available, please visit: www.trnty.edu/worldview
