This looks rather interesting and is probably a useful upgrade.

Give your FT-817 a new lease on life!
Last night I got around to installing my own LASERBEAM filter into my FT-817 and it works like a champ! This will be a great addition to the radio, especially now that the stock filters are becoming hard to come by. In case...

Sam Nelson WA5VDM SK (R.I.P.)

His obituary...

Samuel Sam “WA5VDM” Joseph Nelson
Sam “WA5VDM” Nelson on Dec. 20, 2015, WA5VDM Key went silent.
Samuel Joseph Nelson, 71, owner and general manager of Kay Communications for almost 40 years, retired in 2011, and lost his battle with cancer Dec. 20, 2015, surrounded by his family in his home. Sam was a U.S. Navy veteran who served his country in Vietnam. He was quick to say it was an honor to be able to serve his country. He was a member of the Board of Directors for the USS Orleck in Lake Charles and volunteered much of his time to help with the preservation of the ship. His biggest dream was to see the ship moved to a more prominent location and be restored to its former glory. Sam had a passion for ham radios, a “hobby” that he and his father enjoyed since Sam’s childhood. His call sign was WA5VDM and is now a silent key.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 23 years, Maggie Nelson; daughter, Delia Nelson of Sulphur; two stepsons, Jeremy and Cody Harris of Sulphur; three grandchildren; and sister, JoAnn Forberg of Alvin, Texas.
Sam was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and “Toni” Nelson; sister, Patsy Wheeler; and two nieces.
Honoring Sam’s wishes, the family will not have any services. Cremation was entrusted to Johnson & Robison Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made the USS Orleck at www.orleck.org  .
Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.johnsonrobisonfh.net  .

Wanted to remind every one about MUSEUM SHIPS WEEKEND!
See if there is a ship near you on the list and go take part, or try and contact as many stations as you can.

They have been around for a while but yea lots of hams set up things weird on the internet or don’t run them very well. Even QRP ARCI isn’t ran very well at times. They lost my 1000 miles a watt award info when their awards website went down even though it was marked as approved and I never bothered to resubmit my application afterwards because it took forever the first time to get it verified.

I really wish he would release drawings so that others could make it.

I'd pay $100 for the parts unassembled and unfinised.

Effective immediately i am stepping down as moderator and leaving this group. I have lost interest in SL and other virtual worlds. I hope some one else steps up to the plate to moderate this group. To my knowledge i am the only one who has been active in managing spam and making sure the auto filter does not  block legitimate posts.

Any ways have a great day and good luck!
