Dead Deer Removal - Westchester County, NY

Wintertime in the northeast can be rough on the local deer population. Between higher volume of deer activity and hunting seasons, there seems to be a higher risk of deer dying on private property. Much like any dead animal removal, this can be a particularly nasty job. Between decomposition and the inevitable swarm of flies and maggots, most homeowners don't want to have to take care of it on their own.

If you've discovered a dead deer on your property, Call TriState Wildlife Today! (914) 315-7033 - http://tristatewildlife.com/servicing/westchester-ny/dead-deer-removal/

Westchester County, NY -  Raccoon Removal - 10528

Over 80% of the time, when a raccoon is found in the attic, it's either pregnant, or has very recently given birth to a litter of pups. This is because expecting mothers look for the safest place to nest, and in most cases, that's going to be an unsecured, or accessible  attic space. Attics are protected from both the elements and potential predators. They're also equipped with all of the warm nesting material a raccoon could hope for.

The biggest issue, aside from the risk of direct human contact, is the hazardous damage that nesting raccoons create. They shred insulation, chew on beams and wires, and urinate and defecate everywhere, which has been known to spread very serious diseases to humans that breath the contaminated air. Raccoons are simply bad news for the health of your home.

Raccoon trapping programs, coupled with damage repair and prevention techniques, is the most effective way of ridding your home of raccoons. One of the most important steps of the removal process is searching the entire attic space for babies. These adorable creatures are often hidden away from sight, and are completely helpless without their mother. No raccoon trapping program is complete without it!

If baby raccoons have been found abandoned by their mother, it's very important for find a trained wildlife rehabilitator, who can care for the babies until their fully grown. At TriState Wildlife, we care about all of the animals we encounter, and always treat them humanely and with respect!

If you've been hearing noises in the attic, Call TriState Wildlife Today!

Westchester Raccoon Trapping and Removal

Like most nuisance wildlife, raccoons are great at finding and exploiting any structural weakness on a house, so they can move in and begin nesting. In this case, a raccoon ripped away a loose piece of soffit to gain access to the warm crawlspace. The homeowners only noticed the soffit on the ground, after hearing loud noises inside their home at night.

In order to insure that we trapped the correct raccoon, we blocked the exit with new wood and a one-way trap. When the raccoon came out to eat the bait in our trap that night, it was unable to get back inside. The raccoon was then relocated far from the property and the last remaining hole was permanently sealed.

If you raccoons, or other nuisance wildlife living inside your home, Call TriState Wildlife Today! (914) 315-7033

Westchester County Bat Removal

Its been a busy week at TriState Wildlife. Many emergency bat removals. This call came in from Armonk at 2am last night. Bat in the bedroom. We were removing a bat from a house in Mt Kisco when the call came in and we were able to get out to the house about 20min later. Because this bat was in a sleeping child's bedroom we brought it into the department of health to be tested for rabies.

Noises in the Chimney - Westchester Raccoon Removal

Homeowners in Westchester County, NY called, concerned about strange noises coming in the chimney. The noises came after sunset each night and sounded too big to be a squirrel. By lowering a camera and light down the uncapped chimney, we were able to get a picture of the culprit... a large adult raccoon, that found a nice comfy home below.

We trapped the raccoon that night and were able to animal proof the chimney the following day. No more critters in the fireplace!

Emergency Bat Removal in Westchester NY

One of out On-Call Bat Specialists captured this bat inside a home in Katonah, NY. The homeowners called around 2am, when they woke up and found it flying around their living room. Luckily, everyone in the house had been sleeping in closed rooms, which kept them safe from accidental contact with the bat.

We were able to determine that this bat had flown in through an uncapped chimney. The attic was free of infestation and the rest of the exterior looked perfectly secure. After Bat-Proofing the chimney, we're confident that they wont be having anymore late night visitors.

Westchester Raccoon Removal - Baby Raccoon Rescue

Our Harrison office responded to a call last week for strange crying noises in an attic. While inspecting the attic, we found this adorable baby raccoon! Most of the time, a baby raccoon will get scared and try to hide from people, but this little guy came right up. He was thin and looked like it had been several days since he'd nursed. His mother most likely went out at night to forage and passed away on the journey.

After bottle feeding him a few times that night, we transported him to our raccoon rehabilitator. He'll be placed with an adoptive mother raccoon and family group, where he'll be nursed and cared for, until they're ready to be introduced into the wild.

If you have raccoon noises in the attic, Call (914) 315-7033
