We received a call from our client George Williams Hotel. The Hot water system had burst. They required a new system within a small time frame of 2 days. The System was a MASSIVE Rheem 315ltr with 6 x 3.6KW Elements. The system was very much over sized for the 5 bed rooms it was servicing. We installed a cheaper Rheem 315LTR system with 3 x 3.6 KW Elements.

Was installed Early Friday ready for the weekend.

Sub metering!
Tri Plumbing was engaged to help even out the water bills at this body corporate managed building. Like so many buildings around Brisbane the units are paying an equal share of water used throughout the building!. This only works if all the units have the same amount of people living in the unit at the same time. We noticed as the city becomes more expensive more people are living in smaller places to help keep the costs down. Our job was to ensure that each unit pays the water they use. Giving the smaller units with 1-2 people a fair go and the units with 3-5 people paying for what they use!

When you let someone install a Hot water system Vs Someone that knows what they are doing!
Tri plumbing was called to site to quote on a new hot water tank for this complex. After a short visit we calculated that the sites hot water requirements did not match the system that was installed. They had 2 x tanks and 2 x burners (1 x burner was brand new and was only a backup! it was not actually turned on, as it did not have correct gas pipe sizing feeding it.)

Instead of selling the customer a new tank (which is what they requested) we proposed a new option to alter the existing set up, to allow the 2 x burners to operate at the same time and remove the leaking tank. All the items were onsite! they just needed to be installed correctly!!!

Our customer had received quotes for more that $11 thousand dollars to install a new system that was not required. Our scope of work was to increase the gas supply pressure so we did not have to upgrade the existing gas supply line (over 40 meters long) remove and dump the existing tank, set up the 2 x burners and manifold together to the tank to allow correct working flow rates and pressures.

We were all called to investigate a water leak. We found a leaking pvc thread into a galvanised pipe. When removing the pvc thread it literally disintegrated. Lucky it take no time at all to upgrade the water service with a more user friendly and less harmful product. Galvanised piping is no longer suitable for potable water.
