Congratulations to TAE Chief Science Officer Dr. Toshiki Tajima on winning the 2018 S. Chandrasekhar Prize of Plasma Physics from the Association of the Asia-Pacific Physical Societies, Division of Plasma Physics, which honors pioneering scientists. Among Toshi’s many inventions and contributions, he is regarded as the father of laser-driven acceleration for his discovery of Laser Wakefield Acceleration (LWFA), a phenomenon he first described in a seminal paper in the late-70s as a postdoctoral fellow together with the late John Dawson. LWFA drives plasma particles to very high energies over very short distances. It is now being leveraged across industries including particle acceleration, astrophysics and medicine – and we predict more transcendental opportunities to come. TAE is privileged to have such a revolutionary mind in our midst. Cheers, Toshi!

It’s been a busy week here at TAE Technologies. In addition to Secretary Perry’s visit, we were also fortunate to host Deputy Assistant Secretary of Commerce for China & Mongolia Alan Turley at our headquarters, joined by Commerce Department Director Richard Swanson and Senior International Trade Specialist Jasmine Braswell. They toured our world-leading fusion energy development device Norman and learned more about TAE Life Sciences’ efforts to bring its unique and highly effective technology for the treatment of diffuse and difficult-to-treat cancers to customers and patients in Asia.
