In cased you missed it, last week was a busy and wonderful week for the Mayor's Star Council. We had the launch of lemonade day Dallas with our ‪#‎MRSCQuad‬, the kick off of the mural project that was created by last year's Mayor's Rising Star Council members, a few of our members were featured speakers at the first ever Dallas Startup Week and a few more great things. Just a typical week for the incredible people involved in the Mayor's Star Council.

Here is a two different television stories done that involved the ‪#‎MRSCSquad‬

David Johns of the Mayor's Rising Star Council featured along side of Lemonade Day Dallas Executive Director, Peggy Bessellieu.

Dallas Startup Week is under way and there already so many amazing stories, connections, and revelations through Downtown. thanks to hanah cho and the Dallas Morning News for kicking off Tuesday with this great coverage. It was also great to see Matt Himelfarb from Dallas Venture Partners quoted in this article.

Great article this morning in the Dallas Morning News business section around the DEC Ambassador Program. It is amazing to see residents of North Texas joining a volunteer program that supports and serves within the entrepreneurial community.
Great work by the #teamDEC ambassadors and great highlights of Aaron Terwey, Emiola Banwo, Tara Vornkahl, Tom Buttine and Aassia Haq.

If you would like to be a DEC Ambassador you have till Friday to apply for the next Ambassador class.

One of my favorite parts of every month is the moment we send out The DEC Monthly Newsletter. Not only does it show all of the great things that are going on at The DEC or with our member companies but even more than that it showcases the great activity going on in the entire Dallas and North Texas community.  I have never been as excited as I am now about a new year for startups in Dallas.

It is so cool to look back and see all that the Mayor's Star Council has accomplished since Mayor Mike Rawlings launched it 3 years ago. Every member of this group has spent so much time, effort, and commitment to embrace and engage the City of Dallas today rather than inherit the city in 20 years. I truly believe these individuals are some of the future leader's of our city and they are already stepping up to serve and lead us to being a global leader as a city.
We still have more to do and much progress to be made, but it is humbling to serve along side of these leaders who have a vision for what Dallas can be one day!

Well, its spring break and I am happy to get a week off teaching, but nothing will keep me from the crazy momentum that is going on in the DFW Entrepreneurial Community.

Check out The DEC's March Newsletter. After an unprecedented week at Dallas Startup Week we have so much going on, you'll have to read the newsletter to see it all.

What spurs innovation in Dallas? Is it an accelerator program geared towards facilitating local startups' technological evolution? Entrepreneurs securing investment dollars to grow new ventures? Or perhaps it's learning how to build a more collaborative startup community from a “globetrotting ...

After a great Dallas Startup Week it was great to see our new friend Taylor Soper from Geek Wire write this article about The DEC. It has been so incredible to see the Dallas (North Texas) startup scene grow and every day there are more and more stake holders that get involved. Corporations, Universities, investors, accelerators/incubators, media outlets and more are helping build a strong and vibrant ecosystem for entrepreneurship. It is fun to read an article like this and think we have had a role in helping make this community collaborative and successful.

What a great article that speaks to the amazing collaboration that is going on in the Dallas Startup scene.  The ecosystem in DFW is continuing to grow and is including all sorts of stake holders from entrepreneurs, investors, accelerators/incubators, corporations, universities, media outlets, municipalities and more.  Just remember: "Don't Mess with Texas Startups"

Don't miss your chance to be a part of a great volunteer program that helps introduce you to the Dallas (North Texas) startup community. We focus on first introducing our Ambassadors to the community, connecting them to the great organizations that make up our community and then providing opportunities for service and leadership. The DFW Startup Scene continues to grow exponentially and now is a better time than ever to get involved.
Please apply to be involved. There is no age minimum or limit and we have seen some amazing things come out of this motivated, enthusiastic, service minded group of people.
