I have only waited years for my friend Marilyn to share this cake. Years.

"The Best Ever - Blue Ribbon Winning - Chocolate Layer Cake - In All The Land" has been posted on my blog and was featured on +Wilton Facebook page today.  Here's the link with all it's chocolately goodness. #chocolatecake #chocolate #chocoholic #cakerecipes #baking

Learning to use my daylight fluorescent light with softbox for my late at night food shots. Backgrounds fall out of light fast but I don't seem to mind for food shots. BTW, this salmon was really good and very easy to make.

Back to blogging after a long break.
You don't get better at anything by not doing it. You will want to make your enjoyment of this cocktail perfect by drinking it over and over again.

Seeing as how writing a real food post is temporarily beyond me, I have instead resorted to cheap theatrics and parlor stunts and posted a GIF wall -- all about me as a food blogger. Hopefully you will find it amusing.
If you are a food blogger then perhaps you can also relate to the feelings expressed here in this first ever Food Blogger GIF Wall by Sis Boom Blog.

I had a lot of fun making these at home and reliving wonderful sardines eaten abroad. I don't think this will eliminate my tin obsession.
Sure sardines are great right out of the tin but this sardine escabeche is easy to prepare at home once you get over your fish-fear and fillet them at home.

Does raw fish make good food porn?  I think so, but do you?  This was pretty tasty and very easy to make!

Natural light photography facing the light source was difficult. I used a big bounce reflector behind me so I didn't lose too much detail.

Spur of the moment cocktail shot using existing table lighting and hand held set up. Pretty shot but there is that focus thing that drives me crazy when I want to shoot hand held in low light.

I would have rated this higher as the food was great. The problem is that the kitchen shuts up tight at 9PM even on Saturdays so you had better be done ordering by then. For a 'small plates' restaurant this makes a difference as you don't usually order your whole meal all at once. This is done without a 'last call' notice as well.

Farbod is not only a great teacher but an accomplished performer. My family has hired him many times to play at parties and not only was his fee very reasonable but having him there MADE the party! I would strongly recommend him for your event or for lessons.

First off, there is nothing 'reasonable' about the prices here but you will not beat the great collection of modern eyeglasses and you will NEVER beat the knowledge of the sales staff in helping you select the perfect pair of glasses for your face. I go in to get a new pair every couple of years and walk out with TWO. And the service doesn't end when you pick up your glasses. Any time you are in the area you can drop by and they will clean and adjust your frames, nosepieces, tighten the temples, etc. I am just in awe of their ability to pick out just the right frame.
