Snapshot: Big Picture Guy | Entrepreneur Mindset - "Always A Way" | Desiring to make the world better, by caring for one person at a time | www.trevordrinen.com
Full Picture: I find myself to be independent in my thinking and behaviors. Having strong ideas, opinions, and expressing them with confidence and certainty. I have a willingness to take risk, developing, and acting on ideas that are distinctly new or unconventional. I have a creative and nonconformist personality.
In expressing and acting on my idea, I am determined and persistent, having the kind of confidence and nerve involved in initiating innovation and/or change. I find myself to be solution verses problem oriented.
In dealing with people, I consider myself a good listener; while, being direct, expressing myself bluntly at times with strong conviction. In general, I am patient and persevering, working at a steady, unhurried pace, at times developing new ideas which I present in a self-assured and forthright manner.
Being more conceptual than detail-oriented, I am fairly casual in working with details which are not vital to my job. I prefer to delegate such work to other people whenever possible. What interests me much more is new ideas, or the big picture and an analytical, critical approach to solving problems while caring for people.
As a salesperson, I will tend to be, confident and calm, in the way I perceive is best; preparing only as much as necessary, and then focusing more on the technical issues to be solved than on perfectly polished presentations. I find myself to be concise; engaging in as little small talk as necessary; speaking calmly, with a moderate pace and relaxed body language. I’m often determined to win; undeterred by rejection, failure, or criticism and very persistent.
As a manager of people or project, I will be a manager who is broadly focused on goals; a conceptualizer taking time to pursue innovative, creative solutions to problems. While reluctant to delegate true authority, I delegate details freely; my follow-up will be casual and cursory as my true focus is personal care and solving the next complex issue. I find myself to be a technically-oriented problem solver, who focuses on solving difficult problems or developing complex ideas, rather than the political aspects of an organization. I communicate directly; expressing my ideas in a ‘take it or leave it’ manner.
