Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!
We're working diligently over the holidays to get you Trenta OS Alpha 4 and a new HiRes Rainier UI Icon update. Leading up to the release, and to celebrate the holidays and the new year, we are announcing our 2016 Holiday contest.

Here's how it works and how to enter:

Have a favorite application on Linux? Nominate it to be included in a future Rainier UI Icon update.

1. Pick an application.

2. Tweet us why we should include the icon in Rainier UI via Twitter - include @Trentaio and #RainierUI in your tweet. (One entry per person. Submitting more than one will automatically disqualify you).

3. (Optional)You can get an extra entry. How? Sketch or mockup what you imagine the icon for that application would look like on Trenta OS. (That's a total of two (2) possible entries per user).

Contest ends January 3rd, 2017 at 6:00 PM Pacific Time.

We will pick one winner, mention you on our Google+ and Twitter page, send you a set of and Trenta OS stickers and include the icon with a future Rainier UI release.

Good luck and happy holidays from!

No purchase necessary.
Open to everyone 18 and up.

There it is. Alpha 4 is coming soon!
November 5, 2016 - Seattle, WA – Autumn 2016 Update

Our dearest fans, you have hung in there waiting for this announcement. For those of you who pieced together our hints, you know that we are very close to releasing Trenta OS Alpha 4. After we finished internal testing for Alpha 3S, we determined it didn’t meet our standards and therefore was not good enough for our dedicated supporters. Instead, we began to work on the next version. This version is still in alpha but we believe that this will be step up from Alpha 3 from last year. The new version will be based on the latest Ubuntu LTS release 16.04 and will bring back all of the beloved features you’re used to with bug fixes among other updates.

The second piece of this announcement involves Rainier Theme which we have rebranded as Rainier UI. For those of you who aren’t familiar, Rainier UI is made up of the themes and icon set that gives Trenta OS its look and feel. Since the last Trenta OS release, our icon set has expanded to cover most included applications of Trenta OS Alpha 4 and continues to evolve.

Next, Kenny Stier has taken taken on the role of project lead of Trenta OS while Kevin “KevDoy” Doyle will continue his work on Rainier UI and overlooking as a whole. We are currently working behind the scenes to bring you, on top of everything mentioned above, a new website. Our new website is live right now, despite being a work in progress, at with Trenta OS’s new home at

Lastly, some other projects will be announced in the future. One of these project’s working title is “Project Joki” and with it we plan to empower creators of media and design. More on this and other unannounced projects soon.

Very special thank you to Dominic Hayes, Francisco Benavente, Corbin Crutchley, everyone who continues to support us with your feedback, bug reports, and all of you who decide to donate. If you’d like to contribute, please visit today.

PS: Keep your eyes peeled on our social media leading up to the release of Alpha 4.
