Three new domus in Pompeii ruins will be opened starting from today 07 December 2016. These are: the Small Lupanare (Piccolo Lupanare), the villa of Obellius Firmo and the house of Marcus Lucretius Frontone.

In addition it will possible to admire the unusual excavation of a totally new area usually concealed from the ground. All this thanks to the end of the restoration and security works of the Regio V and IX provided by the Project "Grande Pompei". An impressive work of restoration that has affected the walls and the decorations, in addition to providing interventions on roads and pavements, gates and hedges, also allowing to learn and document hitherto unknown details of the affected areas.

September 27, 2016 is World Tourism Day, dedicated to the theme of accessibility.

On September 27 it will be celebrated the World Tourism Day and a number of initiatives will take place all over the world.

Tourism for all: people with disabilities, senior citizens and families travelling with small children, and sooner or later all citizens will appreciate the advantages of universal accessibility. This is why UNWTO has chosen to celebrate World Tourism Day 2016 on the theme of accessible tourism. Official celebrations will take place on 27 September in Bangkok, Thailand.

“Everyone has the right to access leisure and tourism services on an equal basis. Yet 1 billion people around the world living with disability, along with young children, seniors and persons with other access requirements, still face obstacles in accessing fundamentals of travel such as clear and reliable information, efficient transportation and public services, and a physical environment that is easy to navigate. Even with modern technologies, those with visual, hearing, mobility or cognitive impairments are being left behind in many tourism destinations.” said United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon in his official message.

14 Blue Flags in Campania for 2016

Campania region confirms 14 blue flags for the summer 2016 and is at the fourth place among the Italian regions with the 'quality marks' for bathing. This is what emerges from presentaizone of Blue Flags 2016 awarded by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE).

The XXX edition of the prize has awarded with the Blue Flag the resorts whose bathing waters were excellent, as determined by the results of the analysis that, over the last four years, the ARPA (Regional Agencies for Environmental Protection) conducted as part of the National monitoring program conducted by the Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment.

The verdict of the international jury has confirmed the quality of the Cilento coast: the flags were assigned to Agropoli, Capaccio Castellabate, Montecorice (with Agnone and Capitello), Pollica (with Acciaroli and Pioppi), Casal Velino, Ascea, Pisciotta, Centola-Palinuro, Vibonati-Villammare and newcomer San Mauro Cilento that in past years had been excluded. To the north of Salerno recognition goes to Positano, on the Amalfi Coast.

Double award also in Naples, awarded Massa Lubrense, with the localities of Baia delle Sirene, Marina del Cantone, Marina di Puolo and Reccomone; and Anacapri, with the resorts of Faro Punta Carena, Gradola and the Blue Grotto.
