Bighorn sheep are common along the Gardner Canyon (between the North Entrance and Mammoth) throughout the year. Their fearlessness and agility is an incredible thing to witness.

Cooler weather brought lots of rain and even some snow to the area earlier this week. It always makes for some dramatic scenery. Even during the summer you need to plan for winter weather in Yellowstone

Fawn Pass Trail
Just south of Mammoth Hot Springs is a beautiful hike through the sagebrush flats just east of Electric Peak. This trail provides access to Sepulcher Mountain, Electric Peak, Fawn Pass and Sportsman Lake.
