This is not an "angry" review, just an honest overview. I like to get what I pay for and thought I was getting a four star resort. This is definitely not a four star facility. Don't be fooled by the pictures online. I give it a two star rating. The location is good, but the rooms and accommodations are average at best. We booked a suite on the penthouse level for six nights for $4,000. For the room and amenities, it is EXTREMELY overpriced! A suite with no washer/dryer, no oven, and no dishwasher? The parking is horrible! The lot is completely full at night and you have to squeeze into small parking spots and hope the person next to you doesn't hit your vehicle with their door. The putt putt golf and the game room are a joke. The entire "resort" needs updating. It is obvious management is focused on taking your money and not on the customer's experience. If you are expecting a four star resort, you will be highly disappointed.

My sister and her daughter from Ohio and my son from California came to Florida to visit. I always try to show them a good time, so I took them to the TradeWinds for a few days. We all loved the cabanas, the slide, the floating raft, the water park, the paddleboards and the adult swimming pool. But our best experience was the JetLev. John and kaylan was so fantastic. John was a great teacher and had a wonderful sense of humor. The JetLev was the favorite activity! .......Thanks to John and Kaylan

When i book a 4 star resort, I expect 4 star service and accommodations. That is not what we found at the TradeWinds Island Grand. If you are good with paying a premium for basically a Holiday Inn with a so-so view, then book a room here. And expect to also pay a "resort fee" even of you do not intend to use any cabanas or the beach. Our first room was tiny and dark with a view of the rear of a service elevator wall. We were able to "upgrade" at a cost to a room with a tiny balcony and a view of the roof of a bar. The room was not very clean - the mirrors over the couch had something all over them - I hesitate to guess what. Obviously they are not cleaned regularly. Overall, if I return to St Pete Beach, I would NOT rebook here. Try Sirata Beach Resort instead.

Our signed contract & deposits were made, and then finding out we had to move the last portion of our wedding indoors because of time/noise issues. Although the times were listed in our fully executed contract. Checking in was a nightmare, I was late to my rehearsal because they put us in the wrong rooms. Wedding day, floor plan completely different than our floor plan that was sent to Tradewinds. My groom spent his entire afternoon making sure they moved everything around.Ceremony aisle was small even though they were informed I would be walking with my mother and father.Table needed for our ceremony box was a huge table. It was placed only feet away from the front row of seats so we couldn't stand in front of it. NOW it's in every single picture & no one could hear our vows.Place cards couldn't be put down because of the wind, instead someone walked around telling people where they were going to sit verbally. I don't understand why she couldn't just hand them to the guests. No candles were lit on the tables at all, they were putting them out on tables during our first dance. Our schedule was gone over with everyone, a timeline was also discussed. So after our first dances we sat down & a toast was announced, however we they didn't have anything ready for us to drink at all so we had to skip the toast & go back later. No water on any tables, & my Mom was told by a waitress that it was in an effort to be environmentally friendly, she could find a water station to use instead. The Bartender told one of my guests that she worked a double & was closing at 1030 because she had to work in the morning and was tired! Who tells a guest that! We were supposed to move indoors for noise right there however the indoor setup was all the way across the property which was moved without our persmission, this was never asked, told, nor was it approved by us. No one knew where they were going. Then I was asked to fill out a survey about the food while I'm crying because my guests had left & no one knew what was going on. I literally waited for 20 min to go to the other room.We were supposed to have a sparkler send off after everything, that is written down & that was never done. I still don't even know where my sparklers are, I did find my sparkler sendoff picture frame and the image in the frame was crumbled in the bottom of my box. I ended up on a golf cart crying to your catering manager because I didn't know why any of this was happening. In the end everyone was so defensive, everyone seemed to be acting as if I was crazy for being upset,& that it was all going as planned. I don't understand how someone spends well over $10k at your venue not including the wedding guests and bridal party that paid to stay, eat, & enjoy the resort as well are treated so badly. Even our room change was done terribly and I had to keep going back up the front desk the day after our wedding just to move to our next room. In the end I'm upset because you only get one wedding day and it was slightly tainted by all of these issues. Even the Exquisite Events vendor wrote me back very defensively, and wouldn't return my reply email. I've also waited over a week to hear back from Julie. I'm hurt, offended, and broken down by all of this. I hope that this is a learning experience and never happens to another bride again. That was the whole point of me asking questions, so that I could get a sincere apology, maybe a few answers, and so it would never happen to another bride again.

Many reviews are written by those with a huge sense of entitlement or by those who are just angry to begin with. Neither applies. Just a hard working guy who wanted a 4 star experience for a couple wanting a nice getaway. Food/beverage/hospitality is about making the patron feel good about their experience. Not sure how this establishment got a 4 star rating, but the room I paid $203 for was akin to an old Motel 6. I've never written a review before. Here's our experience. Overall, I would definitely avoid this place. Reservation: After making an online reservation, I called ahead to be assigned a king room. The two bed rooms are full size beds, not queens. We were told that they would put in the request but that they wouldn't guarantee a king room even though the request was well in advance of our stay. Finally after ten minutes on hold a manager said he would put us down for a king room but he made sure I knew that he was doing me a huge favor by doing so. Arrival/parking: Parking is supposed to included in the price. When we arrived we were told that there would be a valet charge but that we could self park. I opted to self park but we were told we needed a parking pass. I went to check in to do so. Waited 27 minutes at the front desk, finally got a room, but we were told that we had to go to another desk and another line for a parking pass. Another 20 minutes in line and it took about ten seconds for them to hand me a pass. Wondered why the front desk couldn't just give us a pass. Went to park the car to find it had been moved and "parked in" by other cars waiting. Took another 25 minutes to move the other cars so I could park. Took me 45 minutes to find a spot in the inadequate lot with narrow spaces. Spaces so narrow that the next day when we left, found that the car had been dented by another car. Room: Finally made it to the room. Certainly not like the photos. There were no windows, no balcony, the door was this old metal door like the ones you'd see at an old motel. Carpet old, walls old, furniture, old. Railings filthy, walkways dirty. The room was dark, small, smelly and outdated. The bathroom was way outdated, small. Went to be assigned to another room but were told that was the standard $203 room and that for more money we could upgrade. The front desk staff were discussing their personal weekend plans and I was just a nuisance to them. The concierge was no help. Bar: The lobby was nice enough. The bar was average, minimal ambience. Told the bartender about what had happened so far. He left for a moment and came back with a card that would give us 20% off food, etc. to compensate for the crummy room. Incidentally, the restaurants, etc. wouldn't honor the card because they said we had the wrong kind of room keycard. Bermuda Restaurant: Went to eat. There were about 30-40 tables in the restaurant, about 90% empty. The host asked us if we had a reservation and that he would have to check availability before giving us a table. The food was average at best. The mojito was great, though. They were out of several items on the menu. Night: Went for a walk around the grounds. Everything was dirty and rather worn, certainly not 4-star. At about 1030p the room next door became really loud and boisterous, no problem, I was a kid once too. But then it became screaming, yelling, loud music and a dog barking constantly. Called the front desk at about midnight. We were told that dogs were not allowed in that part of the hotel. Despite the call the ruckus finally let up at about 3am. The dog barked all night. Checkout: Even though most of the resort amenities were closed down we were charged a resort fee. The man at the front desk, after hearing what had gone refunded the resort fee. By that time I was so beaten down I didn't really care. Bottom Line: This is NOT a four star experience. We won't be going back.
