Lovely visit to The Cloisters today. It was my first visit ever and was worth the hour+ trip though I think I'll save my return trip for warmer weather.

Thanks, +Ana Ruvalcaba. It is definitely worth a trip even though it took a little over an hour each way on the train from Brooklyn.

Hidden Apartments in NYC and Paris

The folks at +Untapped Cities have done it again (http://goo.gl/6ytLQc) this time with an awesome feature on secret apartments in landmarks. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't mind a night in each of them. And while we're at it, I'll take a stay at Cinderella's Castle at Walt Disney World, too.

Ooh, this street art may be worth a PATH train ride. :)

Loving that Boston will be featured on the new Monopoly board but I love the commentary here even more!
Boston will have a spot on the next edition of Monopoly, called 'Monopoly Here and Now.' The city will appear between Detroit and Milwaukee.

Brunched here one afternoon, sans cocktails and had a delicious meal. Starting with crispy cornbread served in a mini cast iron pan was definitely a smart move with a rosemary or sage butter that was insane. I really enjoyed my potato pancakes, eggs and bacon but will say they were way greasier than I would have liked. Prices are moderate, staff is helpful and tables are small. I'd return for a drink or to dine at the bar, which seems a bit more comfortable than the cramped back tables which are quite loud if a family (or ten) are there as well. Be warned, if you visit in the Winter, sit as far away from the back door as possible. It is straight up drafty back there and absolutely frigid!

I've been to two8two a few times and haven't ever been disappointed by the burgers that hit the spot after a few drinks or before a night on the town. They're always cooked perfectly (medium per my request) and the fries are outstanding, whether it's sweet potato or standard. The actual seating setup is a bit snug and I wish it were more comfortable, but I've yet to dine in the backyard which looks a bit more comfortable.

I dined here on a Wednesday night and enjoyed fantastic service and a delicious filet mignon. The salads aren't exactly complicated, but they aren't simple, so be sure you like all of the items before ordering. They're also huge, so perfect to split as an appetizer. I had the filet mignon with steamed asparagus (upon request) and a croquette. I've definitely had better croquettes but the huge filet mignon portion certainly made up for what the croquette was lacking. Staff is friendly, almost overzealous with water refills and offer great recommendations. Great ambiance (must have been a recent renovation) and there's a clear division of space between the restaurant and bar. Would be great for a group or family meal. The cost for two enjoying an appetizer, entree, coffee and a half bottle of wine will run you about $130.

This is definitely a place for locals as we were brought here by our taxi tour driver who knew everyone. I had the beef stew, macaroni pie and potato salad. The macaroni pie was out of this world. Loved the indoor and outdoor seating options as well as the friendly service with reasonable prices.

I brunched here on Marathon Sunday and that was a great decision as we had one of the best interior tables (sadly, too cold and windy for the rooftop) but our table on the first level (second floor) certainly had stunning views of the city. Both the salsa and guacamole are super fresh, with just the right amount of bite. I had a margarita and it was perfect, another fresh and crisp offering that hit the stop. Prices are reasonable, decor is charming and the staff is great. I'd definitely return!

Glory Tours employs true locals who love their Island and sharing their Island with tourists. I rode with Cynthia on a rainy day and she was amazing. She took us to a truly local restaurant in addition to all of the best landmarks, all while sharing history and her personal experiences with us. I would definitely use Glory Tours again.

Definitely worth a trip from Bridgetown though to see the monkeys, be sure to visit Grenade Hall across the parking lot. Otherwise, be prepared to see tons of turtles and exotic birds and lots of other animals like deer, chickens and peacocks. They allow you to roam alongside the animals so wear close-toed shoes and enjoy the experience.
