How to See an Active Volcano Erupt Without Dying in the Process

I've always wanted to see one, especially after having a friend who lived not too far from Mt. Etna. Clearly, safety is my primary concern!

What's your favorite BBQ spot in Brooklyn?

I went to Hometown Bar-B-Que (https://goo.gl/G9otr8) this weekend in Red Hook and was blown away by their food. I must admit it was way better than Dinosaur Bar-B-Que (https://goo.gl/HPWsCC).

So much gratitude to +Richard Trus for organizing a meet-up in Toronto for Harry Potter-loving #localguides at The Lockhart. It was delicious, fun, on HP brand and great to meet you all!

+Traci Cappiello  can you please verify about +Richar Trus action on the Local guides program? he's not playing by the rules, posting junk, spam on the map, it's not fare for the store owners, and the local guides. seems like no one cares. can you direct me on who can look in to it?

Ask a Local Guide  -

Hi! I'll be visiting your fine city for the first time this weekend (yes, I admit, it's because of the brunch at The Lockhart). I'll only be in town for 36 hours but have two things I want to try:
1) Poutine: I've never had it and was reminded of it by one of the posts +Richard Trus made below
2) I love burgers! What's your favorite downtown spot?

I would like to talk about Richard trus Spamming the map with a app that post same picture on Multiple location. I don't think it;s fare for the local guide to see all our work being replace by poor quality or irrelevant content. how can Richar Trus be doing that with no consequences and what Google can do about it?

Located just inside the Tryp Wyndham, I wasn't sure what to expect but I have to say, my meal was delicious. The staff was very attentive and friendly, bringing me a giant Diet Coke in seconds. I had a house salad and the pasta carbonara which was really, really good despite being spoiled by Italian restaurants home in NYC. They have killer lunch specials, too, which will make you feel guilty for not paying more. All in all, a great experience!

I've only ordered takeout from this restaurant and it was a pleasant surprise after I decided to try a new place. This place nails it. Their pork buns are delicious, the hunan chicken is perfectly spicy, the fried rice is great and the steamed pork dumplings are perfect. Delivery is quick (even around lunch) and prices are very reasonable.

If you're looking for Silom Thai, this is it! They changed their name and started to offer thai sliders in 2016, but same fantastic food. This is a great little Thai spot that is both great for a sit-down meal and a few cocktails at the bar. Either way, order the steamed pork dumplings so you don't miss on THE best thing on the menu. Lunch service is definitely slow but the staff is so friendly. Whether you're a pair or a group of 8, expect to take a 45-1.5 hour lunch, at least.

The Norwood Club is a quirky members-only club that I had the opportunity to visit thanks to a friend. I enjoyed a glass of wine and the guacamole. Both were delicious though the pours were rather light and the portion rather small given the price tag. I loved the quirky artists' atmosphere and that it's set in a beautiful brownstone.

After a spicy and salty meal in Chelsea Market, I was in the mood for ice cream and Ronnybrook did not disappoint. Expect to pay $4.50 for a single scoop or soft serve cone. Depending on the demand and farm supply, your favorite flavor may be out but it's high-quality ice cream you won't regret eating.

I stopped in here randomly after work for a blow out and was rather disappointed by the experience. My long hair was too long for the shallow sinks and the blow out experience was rather uncomfortable because the stylist didn't brush my hair before actually blowing my hair out, so it was a tangled mess that was painful. For $35, the price is decent though there are cheaper salons in the area.

I stayed at this hotel for a Friday evening in May and was pleased by my experience. The front desk staff was friendly and beyond efficient. My room (631) looked to have been recently-renovated and was quite spacious (though didn't have much of a view). If you're looking for the standard Marriott experience, definitely stay here.
