My wife is so creative! She made this design with her vinyl cutter. It does the job a curtain would do without blocking Max's view.

I'm 6'5" and 240 lbs, and I hate long flights.  My legs can't move when I'm sitting in a plane.  They are just stuck in place by the seat in front of me.

But, I have nothing to complain about compared to this guy.  His name is Brian Shaw, and he is a 6'8" 420 lbs Strongman competitor.

If you're thinking of marketing on social media, you should read this. This article is a little long winded for my tastes, but it is still pretty interesting.  It reminds me of the point made by this video a long time ago... https://youtu.be/oVfHeWTKjag

Here's a part of the article I found most interesting...

"...Second Floor Music, an independent, Manhattan-based jazz publishing company that represents critically acclaimed but lesser-known composers, was the kind of small business built on its history and reputation: Five Grammy certificates hung on the walls, and jazz legends and up-and-comers dropped by the studio to rehearse. It was not, however, exactly forward-leaning when it came to social media marketing. But it was also ideally positioned to take advantage of Facebook’s advertising services: Its products targeted a niche audience that was often hard to reach, but which Facebook, with its vast trove of personal data, could easily access.

One of Richard Braggs’s workers changing a SIM card.
So in September 2013, Second Floor Music launched a Facebook advertising campaign for the Facebook page of Jazz Lead Sheets, a Second Floor Music website that allowed customers to download sheet music and song recordings. Because more than one-third of Jazz Lead Sheets’ business came from international clients, Second Floor Music asked Facebook to put ads in front of people from around the world, and paid Facebook a few cents each time one of them “liked” the page for Jazz Lead Sheets.

A young jazz singer employed by Second Floor Music named Rachel Nash Bronstein ended up overseeing the Facebook campaign. At first, Bronstein was exhilarated by how fast the Facebook page gained fans, hundreds within weeks. But then she began to notice that the fan activity—liking posts, commenting, etc.—on the page had plummeted. When Bronstein examined the profiles, her heart sank. Many of them hailed from Iraq. A lot of the profiles didn’t display any English. None of them evidenced any interest in jazz."

This is gold.

How one goes about making Edward Snowden funny is beyond me, but John Oliver did it.

This video contains language that is NSFW,  and some brief animated cartoon graphics that are NSFW as well.

So, I was at the golf course on Sunday, and I saw this really cool looking white tree.  I thought to myself, "I should take a photo of that".  So, I pulled out my phone, and snapped this.  It was really bright outside, and I didn't notice that I had accidentally switched to the "Aqua" filter on my phone (OnePlus One has a swipe to change filters 'feature' on the camera application, so it's easy to do).

The result is this really creepy looking photo.  Pretty neat.

What a great statement about what Twitter is for a lot of people.  "It gave them something to do."

I'm with Matt on this one.  +1 for Sean Penn too.

"It gave them something to do".

This sums up my view on Twitter.  I don't get how much time people spend on it, given how little actual communication seems to occur.

And now I'll go back to Reddit (HA HA).

Nice stadium. It's just really hard to get in and out of quickly when a big game comes in on a Friday night. So, get there extra extra early if you don't want to miss the first quarter.

Ordered a replacement part for a kite I bought in Florida while on vacation. The kite is wonderful, and it's my fault that we lost the part. The guy on the phone was nice, and made sure I got my part in a timely manner despite the incoming bad weather in NC. Thanks Kitty Hawk. I'll always recommend you guys.

If you're looking for the highest quality sand volleyball courts in the Dallas / Fort Worth area, I think the courts at The Beach are the best. The sand is deep and fine just like the white sand beaches in the Florida pan handle. The owners built this place with the desire to provide more of a family friendly atmosphere then similar establishments that market themselves as bars first and volleyball venues second. While beer is served here, you won't find the traditional bar atmosphere here that you find at other sand volleyball clubs in the DFW area. There are leagues for youth and adults that are managed well. I've been playing in leagues at The Beach at Craig Ranch for a few years now, and don't plan on stopping anytime soon.

My downstairs AC went completely out last summer, and I called some AC guys expecting a wide range of quotes with hidden costs. I didn't fall for it because I called Cory at Cold Factor, and he gave me information I needed to make a decision about what level of unit I should use to replace my busted one. Once I made the decision, his team came out the next day and got a brand new unit + heat pump installed in one day. AND IT WAS ON A SATURDAY IN AUGUST. Thanks Cory. I feel like I got a great deal and superb service thanks to Cold Factor.

I'll try to leave politics out of this, and base my review on the venue only. Wonderful sight lines from every seat. The upper deck does seem a little too high, and a feeling of quietness looms over it when the game is in full swing. I think you get that at most every multiple decked stadium. There is concession stand access in the four corners of the stadium, and for the most part the lines stay under control. Except for that opening night against Southlake. I think the issue was that the school was counting on volunteers to work the concessions, but no one in town wanted to miss the opening game, so they were woefully understaffed. But that hasn't been an issue since the first night. Restrooms are big and plentiful. Underneath the stands on the home side houses the golf and wrestling practice facilities. Very nice as well. I hear the weight lifting rooms are under the visitor side, but I haven't been over there to see it. The season ticket lottery system was very well organized and the process to obtain tickets was quick and easy thanks to this well thought out process. I was a first time season ticket purchaser in 2012, and the rumors about it being impossible to get tickets just aren't true. Looking forward to season number two in 2013.
