Long term Petrik users Parraweena Pastoral Company via Willow Tree NSW have taken out the 2013 Quirindi Shire bread wheat trophy.  It has been a very dry finish in the area with many crops not filling.   This was achieved on 1/3 of industry standard nitrogen.  The paddock that produced this crop had been on the Petrik system for 5 years.  The wheat was planted on 200 kg/ha of Sulphate of ammonia with a little liquid starter resulting in 43kg/ha N and only 1 kg/ha of phosphorus.  Parraweena received 75 mm of in-crop rain.  The crop that came second in the competition was grown on 124kg/ha of nitrogen, 7.7 kg of P and received 116 mm of in-crop rain.
