Here in the States, we have Reddi-Whip, whipped cream in a compressed can.
Could you do the same with the axe? It might be even more explosive to see the cream splatter.  (Also, shaving cream. Compare and contrast.)

Mrs Weber's Omnibus

I’m a huge fan of Posy Simmonds’ work, at least those bits — Tamara Drewe, Gemma Bovery — that have made it over the pond. I was very curious about Mrs Weber’s Omnibus, given that it collects six of her previous books, published between 1979 and 1993: Mrs…

How to build a city from scratch
a real one!

I ran across this as part of my job stuff research, but having read it, I now have a strong urge to play Cities: Skylines!

It's a very interesting piece, but the part that cracked me up as a strategy, city building gamer was this: Step 12: Start again, clown, you’ve forgotten parks. Ha! Whose been snooping around my game saves?!!

#citybuilding   #construction   #strategygames   #citiesskylines
From Songdo, South Korea to Lavasa, India via Egypt’s unnamed new capital, everywhere you look it seems someone’s building a brand-new city. How hard could it be?

Brian Moore is brilliant. Apparently, Goodbye Little Pointy Teeth is his debut comic collection, and it’s gorgeous, with unusual influences and painted in watercolor. Don’t think pastels, though, but vibrant shades that suit the unworldly subjects. There…

Disney was never able to sell his people mover system to other parties.
Also, the monorail at WDW only serves two parks: Magic Kingdom and EPCOT.
A monorail in San Francisco has a big problem: elevations.  (That's why there are cable cars and electric buses: they can handle steep grades better.)
It's also unlikely people would tolerate an elevated railway in their neighborhood.  Streetcars have charm. Monorails, not so much.

#muni   #transportation

Why does #disney  do it better? Because it's a corporation that can rely on data and not tormented by politics into satisfying certain districts, etc.

The other reason is #math  - they point out that Disney uses 3 monorails and additional busses to move around 100k people.   #sf  is only using 6 lines to move 1 million people...they would need 30 lines to have the same level of quality.  Also, you pay $100 for the privilege of using the Disney monorails.

I would rather see SF get washed and scrubbed so it was clean like Disneyland.

Did you know people actually LIVE at Disney World?
Ever wonder who they were?
Mayor Todd Watzel has had one of the most uneventful political careers in history.

I stayed at the Regency Hyatt during the recent "Groundhog Day" snowstorm. This was a pleasant surprise! Great selection at the deli, helpful staff, and an amazing selection of groceries! My only quibble... the cashiers need to add utensils and napkins to the bags for customers who buy deli items!
