The Best Movie Going Experience I've Ever Had
On Memorial Day, since Alex and I both had the day off, we decided to go to the movies. After much insistence by me, he finally caved, and we went to see Exorcist. First off, it was amazing. It was everything I could have asked for in a reboot. The little g...

Track by Track: Halestorm's Into The Wild Life
For the past few years, I have adored the band Halestorm. They have a very unique sound reminiscent of some of the classic hard rock/metal bands. Also, to have a female fronted band get so successful is so refreshing.  I mean, look at her. Lzzy Hale is so t...

Spooky Girl Rant: Jumpscares
So, a while ago, I did a rant with a horror theme. I'm gonna try and make these a regular feature. In this one, I plan on taking on one of the most common techniques in the horror genre: the ever-so-popular jumpscare. Personally, I am of two minds when it c...

Internships: What They Don't Tell You
Being in college, many of those in academia will tell you to try and get an internship. "It'll look good on your resume." "You'll get so much experience." "It could become a job." Blah blah blah. Let me tell you the real shit. From May to November 2013, I w...

Because Storyline: Issues with RPDR Season 7
Before I get started, let me say that I love watching RuPaul's Drag Race. I have found some of my favorite drag queens on there. Let me also say that this is not anything against Violet Chachki, the winner of this season. I know she has worked really hard t...

What I learned about "real life" from college
People will tell you college is one of the best times of your life. And while it can be, you're gonna learn a shit-ton. Like a fucking lot. Here's a handful of the real life stuff I learned while being in college. Vending machines are your friend. Except wh...

Book Review: Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children
So, I've decided to do more blog type things, especially now that I'm out of school. So, since I just finished rereading this book, why not try to review it? I'm pretty sure this is Ransom Riggs' first foray into novels, but it's amazing.  Mini-synopsis: Ja...

So, a thing's been going on for about a year, and I'm going to tell you about it. A year ago, I started seeing a therapist for my stress level after having my first panic attack. Since then, I have been diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder. It sounds...

Well written, and so true!  Being open about mental illness really does help soften the stigma that society wants to put on it.

When we talk about it, we are not whining.  We are saying "Hey, this is a thing that I deal with."
