Hi everyone, hope all of you are doing well. We are approaching the end of May and the wind and weather are still not cooperating. Usually by now we would be using croakers and we would be fishing in some different areas. Well the weather mainly wind has kept us in the same spots we were fishing 1 month ago. The shrimp bite has been much better than the croaker bite. Now I know some anglers are catching them on croakers, but with the rains and high winds have kept the water cool. I haven't seen the water temp over 76 degrees. I like to start using croaker when the water temp hits 78-80 degrees.
When the winds have been lighter we have had some great trips, but we have had to go out a couple of times with 20-30 mph winds and it was very tough. Hopefully soon the weather will settle down and we can get on that great croaker bite. All the bays should really start to produce some nice boxes of trout & reds soon. That will allow all the boats to spread out and everyone should catch some fish. It can get very crowded and some anglers just don't have boating etiquette or courtesy at all. Well I will keep you all informed on what's happening on the water. Give me or my brother a call anytime to book your next trip. It's only going to get better during the summer months. Until next time, see you on the water.

Well I hope all of you are doing well. Fishing has really been good over the past 2 weeks. Now that being said fishing is good when the weather is good. Spring has traditionally been windy and when the winds are 20-25mph it can make fishing though. When the weather has been decent to good, we have had some really good to excellent outings.
My brother and I are still using live shrimp under a cork for our best results. I have heard from some other guides that lures are working well also. And anglers are caatching fish in all of our bays in Galveston. This is a good sign for our fishery. I belive we have a very healthy bay system and im looking forward to a great summer and fall.
The key to fishing right now is to get good weather, find clean water and key on nervous bait. I have seen some birds working from day to day lately. Fishing is only going to get better from here on out, so if you want to get out give us a call. We should start using live croaker once the water hits 78-80 degrees. I'm thinking mid May.Once that happens it is normal for each outing to produce near limits to limits of trout.
As for now we will continue to fish near some shorelines and some shell reefs around lower Galveston, West Bay and East Bay. It all depends on how the weather effects the trout and water. I want to thank all my customers that have gone out with my brother and I over the past month. We appreciate every customer and especially our regular customers. I personally want to thank Damion and his family, they have been fishing with us for many years. And I had a great trip with Bill and his family. Not sure how we always catch lots of fish, but we did again. Untill next time, see you on the water.

Hi Everyone, hope all is well. Fishing in Galveston has been a real rollercoaster lately. Over the past couple of weeks we have had to deal with a really high tide, some windy days and hotter than normal weather. I also noticed that the specks we have been catching have been full of shad. All this has made for some though days on the water. When the wind has been favorable we have been able to overcome the other issues and we have had some great outings. This time of the year is usually much more consistent and productive than it has been. The good news is we are getting a real cold front this Friday and that should really help the fishing. The north wind should push some of this water out and it will also get all the bait moving out of the back lakes, bayous & cuts. I really expect the fishing to get real good over the next week. Once we start getting more & more cold fronts, the fishing will get back to it's action packed Fall fishing patterns. We are using live shrimp under a cork keying on some slicks and bait. The birds have been working pretty good in some places, but there are a lot of undersized trout under most of the flocks. All the bays are producing just about the same results. Trinity Bay has had the most bird action, but you can find most of the keeper trout in deeper water and the wells. Just remember to handle those throw backs with care and try to be courteous to the other fisherman around the bird action. If you are interested in booking a trip this Fall, please give us a call and ask about our Fall Special. Until next time, see you on the water.

Hi everyone, hope all of you are doing well. We are approaching Fall, but it is still so hot. This along with some rainy and stormy weather has made fishing a bit tricky over the past 2 weeks, September is traditional not the best month for fishing, but the end of Sept. can get pretty good. We really need to get a good Fall cold front to come through and get all the shrimp to move out of the back lakes and bayous. Once the shrimp start to migrate, the trout will really start to be plentiful. As for fishing right now, it has been fair to good. We have had a few really slow days especially when the weather has been bad, but overall we are still having some productive outings. My brother and I have started using live shrimp under a cork and the trout are responding. It's really important to be in the right spot at the right time right now. if you can get on a school of specks while they are feeding, you can really have a nice box of fish at the end of the day. We are also starting to catch some red fish on almost every trip. The fish that we are catching have been in 7 to 9 feet of water. Like always finding some bait and slicks over some shell is most productive. Since we are heading into the Fall months, we are offering a Fall Special. If you book a trip from October - December on a Monday - Thursday, We will pay for your live shrimp. This can be up to a $60.00 discount. I tell people all the time how great Fall fishing can be, so take time out of your busy schedule and go fishing. Until next time, see you on the water.

Hope everyone is doing well. Sorry that I haven't posted a report lately, but this time of the year is pretty busy for us. I am glad to inform you that the fishing has really been good to excellent lately. When the weather has been good the fishing has been great. We have had some excellent days on the water over the past weeks. We have also had to dodge some crazy weather. The rain and wind hasn't been consistenly good for us. We are using live croaker now fishing over shell... on most outings. The artificial guides are doing well too. West Bay and East Bay are the most popular areas right now and every boat owner knows it. LOL The reefs are so packed on the weekends along with the boat ramps. As the weather gets more into the summer pattern, anglers will start to spread out, becuase the fish will start to move around more. I want to thank all my customers that have went out with myself and Steven the past 2 weeks. We have had some really great customers that are problem sick of us saying " let them take it" and "pop that croaker". It can be frustrating at times, but it works. Until next time, see you on the water.

Hi everyone! over the past 2 weeks we have been staying pretty busy. The trout bite has been good to excellent on most days. The weather (mainly wind) has determined how the catches have been. Last week before the weather got bad, we were catching some nice trout. On a couple of outings it was limits & near limits of specks. As this week approached, we got some great weather but the tides were pretty weak & the morning bite suffered. I started my trips a little later & took advantage of the afternoon bite. On Thursday I took out Mark & Matt and they caught at least 45 trout. Out of those we had 16 keepers. They jetties are still producing lots of sheephead, drum & some redfish. It is that time of the year when we really start having consistent days on the water. We are still using live shrimp under a cork right now, but I think within 3-4 weeks we should be trying some live croaker. I have been hearing some good reports from all over. West Bay & East Bay have been producing some nice specks. The Causeway & the shorelines are prime spots this time of year also. I want to thank all our customers over the past 2 weeks. I have been having some great customers & enjoy seeing them catch fish. Thanks to Ryan, Waylan, Ron, Shane, John, Teddy, Mark, Matt, Don, Aimee and all their family & guest!

Hi everyone! I hope all of you had a happy Easter & great Spring Break. As for your Galveston Bay Fishing report, all I can say is it's typical Spring time fishing. During Spring it can be very inconsistent because of the weather. The wind & rain can make it tough to stay on speckled trout. The good news is if you just want to catch some fish, the jetties is a good alternative. Fishing right now at the jetties is great. Lots of sheephead, redfish & drum. Keepers & oversized a...re being caught. Over the past 10 days my brother & I have been fishing the jetties & taking a few bay trips. The jetty trips have produced great & the bay trips have been spotty. As the weather gets better the trout bite will get better. I'm looking forward to a great year. I want to thank all of our clients that fished with us over Spring Break & this week. A special thanks to Ryan & his family & friends. I took them out on his boat last Saturday & they had a great time. I'm looking forward to more trips with him. Fishing is about to get really good, so if you want to book or reserve a trip, please give me a call. Until next time, see you on the water.

My brother took out a real good customer of ours Mark and his 2 friends Randy & Isreal on Friday. Mark has gone out with us many times over the past couple of years & he has had some excellent trips. Steven said they headed out early and at the 1st spot, they started catching some trout. The fishing was good with everyone catching some fish. They were catching some good sized specks along with some throw backs. After a couple of hours of fishing, that spot got a bit crowded &... Steven made a move to another area. It started off good & after another couple of moves they ended up with 24 trout. The redfish weren't cooperating on this day. Again Mark had another great day on the water & Randy & Isreal really enjoyed thier day on the water too. They were using live shrimp under some MidCoast corks. Drifting open areas worked best.
This week looks really bad for fishing. We are suppose to get some bad storms Tuesday & Wednesday. The wind forecast is not favorable either. Hopefully we can get out by Thursday or Friday. I will keep you informed. Well until next time, see you on the water.
