Another opportunity to petition for the British 1921 Census data to be released early.
1921 census. Responsible department: Cabinet Office. Amend the 1920 Census Act to make the publication of the census data exempt from the 100 year rule such that the data can be published now. It is already 90 years since that 1921 census. the 1931 census data for England was destroyed and no ...

Okay - Monday, 12 November at 3:00 pm GMT (7:00 am PST). +Tony Timmins have you used Google+ hangouts before? If not, you will want to download the application and make sure to check settings. If neither of you has attending a hangout in the past week, Google made some small but helpful changes - more about the look and location of icons that of substance. +Colin Spencer and I will get the basic outline and some questions to you beforehand, but it would be helpful to have you speak to how/why you started your study, your use of Outwit Hub, a bit about scrapers, some websites that you have used Outwit Hub with, what data you have acquired, and how you make use of it with your ONS.

We will have a slide or two for introduction purposes, and then turn over the "screen" to you so you can use the screenshare function - so that you can show your website, spreadsheets, walk us through a data mining exercise, etc.  During and cetainly after your presentation/interview, Colin will be able to ask the more technical questions while I will be representing the tech newbies out there.

Once we conclude the recording, we will be able to bring it offline, edit it and keep it private until the scheduled Saturday Guild hangout - where Colin will show it and then take additional questions from the audience. For the North American hangout - we will watch the recording (but not record that portion of the hangout) and then record when we open it up to questions as well as other general discussion.

If that makes sense to both of you and if you want to confirm or change how we go about this - please let me know. Thanks.

Hi Thomas, thanks for this interesting post. I am just in the process of moving one of my blogs to Wordpress, and with a new custom domain name!  Your observations, and I dare say experiences, have been very useful.
Cheers Tony.

I wish I could find someone like that near my home town.  Could really make use of a good carpenter to build cupboards etc. that would match our home.

Story
Tagline
Interested in genealogy, technology, family and local history. Author of the Ancestral Wormhole blog.
Introduction
I am a keen genealogist who has been researching his family history since 1997, I write the genealogy blog's Ancestral Wormhole and Timmins - A One Name Study.

My home town is Chester in the county of Cheshire (England, UK).  I enjoy exploring the history of the local area which has its origins in Roman times.

Due to redundancy I had the opportunity to retire early - I jumped at the chance!  Hence I can now spend more time digging for my family tree roots and growing the branches. I also devote time helping family and friends develop their genealogy and family history.

I started blogging on 14 February 2011.  Please check out my blog's at www.ancestralwormhole.com and timmins-ons.blogspot.co.uk where you will find my ramblings about my family history, one name study and other related subjects. I share research, explore genealogy tools and comment on family history news.  I must also admit to being a bit of a gadget geek!

A warning - researching your family history/genealogy is very addictive.

Here is a list of the surnames I am researching - To keep it simple the list just states the surname, this is followed by the locations (i.e. towns, parishes and counties) that my ancestors lived in during their lifetime.
