Made my first batch of Mysore Pak - a south Indian dessert with gram flour and clarified butter. Mom's version is way better, but she's still impressed. ‪#‎homecooking‬

Try wrapping your head around this one. An Etsy seller in France has somehow managed to design a remarkable 3D-printed sundial that shows the time as digital numbers that actually change as the day progresses and the sun moves across the sky.

Dinner tonight was a non-Mom affair for the first time in years. Dad made salad, I prepared chicken curry, brown rice and Mysore Pak, while Mom supervised and barked orders. She loved it. ‪#‎homecooking‬

INDIA INSIGHT
"Girl or boy, it’s all a blessing," my parents said. I wish the rest of India felt the same way.
Around here, everybody wants you to have a boy. Girls? Not so much. http://reut.rs/1ZPgHfF By David Lalmalsawma
When we decided to have another baby, I pushed past the big questions about whether we have the moral right to introduce another child into this often grim world and so on, and decided to wonder instead if this time we might have a boy since we already had a girl.

In 2004, Khitish Kumar Pandey took 10,000 rupees out of his pension and put it into a savings plan run by the #Sahara conglomerate. But when Pandey went to the Sahara ranch to redeem his deposit, the office told him he could have 15,000 rupees immediately - if he agreed to transfer the remaining 15,000 rupees he was owed to Humara India Credit Cooperative Society Ltd, Pandey said. He has so far not accepted that offer. http://reut.rs/1ZoNAzl Sumeet Chatterjee reports
In 2004, Khitish Kumar Pandey took 10,000 rupees ($150) out of his pension and put it into a savings plan run by India's embattled Sahara conglomerate. The Sahara agent told him his money would triple in 10 years.
