Elon's been a busy guy.
Follow Elon Musk's life path visualized in an infographic to see how he founded SpaceX, Tesla and PayPal, and learned to build rockets and electric cars.

Transparent wood...could make for interesting buildings.
Wood is a great material because it’s cheap, renewable, and versatile. But this crazy transparent wood that scientists in Sweden brewed up is nuts. It could replace glass for some seriously eye-catching architecture, and even be used in cheap solar panels or windows.

Gun enthusiasts are rushing to order a new, 380-calibre pistol that's been designed to resemble a smartphone.

Welcome, but leave your guns on your side of the border.
Another step closer to the White House for Donald Trump, another loud call to move to Canada from the rational half of our friends South of the Border. Following Drumpf‘s Super Tuesday onslaught yesterday, many Americans are showing interest in our immigration policy. In the four hours around the close of polls across Super Tuesday states, searches for …

Here is an interesting movie rating service.
Leanflix is the easiest way to find movies worth watching on Netflix, Amazon, iTunes and HBO (and it's free).

Hololens sounds like it could be a winner.

Wow. LG might have a real winner on its hands with this phone.
Today LG introduces its latest flagship Android smartphone, the G5. Launching alongside a raft of accessories and plug-in modules, the G5 will be defined in most people's eyes by its extras, but I...

Geek and computer guy in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
Introduction
I'm a dad and a computer geek living in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

Our summers typically hit 40C and our winters often hit -40C so I like to spend as much of my winter vacation as possible walking that beach pictured at the top of my profile.  That strip of sand is located in  Nuevo Vallarta just north of Puerto Vallarta.

Went there for a social. Seems like a nice community club for holding a social. Several different spaces to keep food and auction separate from dance floor.

I came home to a cold house and found these guys on Kijiji. They were over that evening, diagnosed the problem and got the part installed the next morning while I was at work. Dallas is a very helpful fellow and they provided very good service. I will use them again in the future.

This restaurant is a hidden gem that you could easily walk or drive right by without seeing it. It is nestled into the corkscrew ramp of a parking lot! Once you turn onto Garry from Portage, it is immediately on your let. It only has 14 diner style stools around a curved counter so seating and atmosphere are very casual. Famena serves up an amazing roti. You choose your meat and vegetable fillings which are wrapped in a buttery flavored home made roti wrapper. Depending on the time of year, it comes with either a salad or a bowl of soup. It is well worth the hunt to find this restaurant if you like roti.

Very good Pho served with a heaping plate of bean sprouts, lime, fresh mint and peppers. They also offer many of the traditional Vietnamese drinks made with things like coconut milk, jelly and different beans. Like most Asian restaurants, the decorations are fairly sparse as it is basically a large room with rows of tables. They have a decent sized parking lot which is convenient given that it is on a major intersection.

This is the first stop on the mutant food tour. Awesomely delicious and huge burgers. It is pricey so it is best to bring a group and order one of the monster burgers as you get more for your money. Just seeing one of these bad boys in person makes the price reasonable.
