Cigars, Steaks, Cake, Scotch. Not necessarily in that order. Capitalism is better than Statism. Always in that order.

It's one thing to be upset that your candidate lost. That's normal. You scream at the wall, then you move on with your life.

But for those crying, wailing and threatening violence at the Inauguration? And those celebrities still lecturing America about what they deem acceptable? Here are some positive thoughts to help you through your self-described grieving.

Small government should not be based on political persuasion. It should be based on the reality that it works better, and makes lives better. An example of that reality, from Venezuela:

From The Article:

"Government can't solve this problem, because government caused this problem with constant price controls and price fixing and government intervention. Venezuela has raised the minimum wage five times in the past 12 months, an increase of 322% from where it was a year ago. And, today, you pay 100 times the price for food you used to get at the local bodega.

As Tim Worstall wrote at Forbes, "The army won't solve this Venezuelan food problem, but abolishing price controls would."

Translation - Less government would let people afford food again, and stop eating pigeons."

Why I'm Losing Faith In My Local Government.

From The Article - "There were 149 murders in Indianapolis in 2016, making it the deadliest year on record. It was four more than in 2015, which was the deadliest year on record until 2016. While most of the violent crime happens in the same areas of the city, the Indianapolis metropolitan area can't afford to have murder rates this high. Literally, can't afford it; tourism, housing and good-paying jobs and investment all suffer when a city is viewed as unsafe.

In dealing with this issue, the Indianapolis City-County Council took three definitive steps: they passed resolutions to support Meatless Monday and oppose supposed hate speech. And they tried to give themselves a raise."

"I've been a man all my life. My father was a man. My grandfathers were both men. My great great great grandfather was a man, as was his father before him. And never once did any of them think being a man was about alcohol and violence."

After a terrorist attack at a nightclub in Turkey, killing 39 people, some Americans like to give themselves solace thinking that terrorism only happens "over there."

What happened at a club in Istanbul is what happened at a club in Orlando. What happened in Berlin and Nice, France is what happened at Ohio State.

Istanbul, Berlin, Orlando, Your City. They're all the same. And the sooner we realize this, the sooner we can do something about it.

From The Article:
"If Americans want to live peacefully, if they wish to go to nightclubs or eat in outdoor cafes or safely go to their local shopping mall, then they must face two realities. First, Radical Islamic Terrorism is real, and it is spreading. No city, large or small, is safe from an attack. There is no such thing as a place that is immune. A lack of strong borders, the radicalization of disaffected youth, the unwillingness of American and worldwide leadership to call the enemy by name, these things lead to more violence, more terrorism and more fear. These things lead to uncertainty, and, yes, murder. We must, if we want a peaceful, civil society, admit to what is happening around us.

Second, if we want to live in peace, we have to make a decision: Are we willing to fight the enemy? Not just the enemy of Americans, but the enemy of humanity? Radical Islamic Terrorism murders indiscriminately. It murders whites and blacks, Jews and Christians and Muslims, men and women, gay and straight, old and young, where ever in the world they may be.

The answer must be yes. Not for blood lust, but for our very survival. We must be willing to fight them, and to kill them. We must be willing to end their reign of terror and their way of thinking. We must be willing to say loudly that in a choice between us and them (a choice that they have presented and perpetuated) that we choose us. Then we must vote accordingly, and not just for President."
