If you have a home alarm code panel in your house, you might want to double-check to make sure any default codes have been changed. It's fairly simple for bad guys to just Google the standard default codes and disable your system.

A default duress code is particularly scary, because of what can happen if a trigger-happy miscreant might do if they recognize that you've just entered the default duress code for that brand alarm.

What really sucks is if you accidentally set the actual disarm code to the same numbers as the default duress code...
