It's that time of the semester (again) where we're looking for K12 teachers and administrators who would like to speak with our University of Wyoming College of Education preservice teachers about their experiences using educational technology in the classroom. This activity continues to be a student favorite, and former students often express gratitude for this activity as they head into their teaching residencies.
Please visit the form for more information and to sign up!

#PresentersofISTE #iste2016 My passion is #empowerment, and the #makermovement helps me share that #passion. With the first #makerspace at #UWYO, my focus is on helping preservice #teachers think about how to use the spirit of and tools often found in makerspaces in their future learning environments. Whether it's an undergraduate student who designs an engaging lesson for students to build a hydroponic growing system for an agricultural science class or an elementary education major who realizes how easy she can implement 3D design for 3rd graders using the Morphi app, I know that I'm making a difference. But my passion doesn't end with the borders of campus. Working a maker faire, like NoCo or Jackson Hole, I get to engage with K12 learners from around the Rocky Mountain region. I watch these budding creators pick up a new tool, like a @3Doodler, and seize the opportunity to play and learn. And sometimes, I get to host K12 learners from around #Wyoming in #WyoMakers. These demos and small group activities challenge our students, our future leaders, to think about design creatively and how rapidly technology changes and have changed the way we live and work, and can help them solve the problems of tomorrow.
