Rick and Morty rerun marathons have become my disturbing comfort food. Also its fun to play spot the celebrity guest roles which there are kind of a lot of even though Justin Roiland is like, most of the voices on the show. Jemaine Clement, Key and Peele, Tricia Helfer and James Callis, Stephen Colbert, Alfred Molina, Werner Hertzog, Nathan Fillion, John Oliver, Christina Hendricks, Nolan North, Gary Cole, David Cross, Keith David, Dana Carvey, Patton Oswald, Kurtwood Smith, Rich Fulcher, Matt Walsh, Susan Sarandon, Danny Trejo, Joel McHale, Alan Tudyk, Tom Kenny, Tara Strong, Clancy Brown...

If I had a dollar for every weirdly contrived anti-millennial headline that could honestly be replaced with 'out of touch baby boomer corporation fails to make the case for product of dubious necessity', I'd be wealthy, but still too sensible to waste money on fabric softener.

Best line from a review of the new Mummy movie ever

"this role is clearly meant for one of those young actors named Chris, but Tom Cruise took it and no one stopped him"

ME: Wow, it's so fucked up that Mario is hanging out next to normal shaped humans now.
NINTENDO: Also he can possess their bodies with a magic hat now. Like a poltergeist or a demon.

WARNING: Alan Wake will be removed from Steam in 48 hours. Music licensing is expiring. It's 90% off until then. If you ever wanted to scratch that itch now is the time.

I don't know why I've never noticed this before but Resident Evil 6 is a very Dead Space-y game. I mean Dead Space owes most of its creative debt to Resident Evil 4. That's a series that flat out wouldn't have existed the way it does if Resident Evil 4 had not happened. But 6 has game design elements that did not evolve organically from it's own series, very Dead Space-y mechanics. It's as though Capcom recognized that EA might have made a better Resident Evil 5 than they did and decided that they needed to be taking notes. Broad stuff like the pacing and mechanics but also small things like the holographic pop up device options menu that doesn't pause the game and the objective locator that casts a laser down the hallway you are supposed to go down (which feels a lot more appropriate in this franchise which never pretends to give you a meaningfully non-linear map). Even though this is the least horror-y game in either franchise it seems clear to me they were looking across the way at what EA was doing.

Torn between being sad that MegaMan only exists as a fighting game character and grateful he's at least IN MvC this time...

You know, I've always dismissed console versions of Minecraft as 'Minecraft for babies' or 'a version of Minecraft where everything that would be a free mod is paid dlc or doesn't exist'. But they're clearly the development priority now, and the new Nintendo Switch version of Minecraft supports seamless split screen multiplayer couch co-op. That there alongside it's relative portability might make it worth buying Minecraft again. Entertaining my brother's girlfriend's kids when they come over being as easy as breaking off a Joycon and whatnot. Thoughts?
