From now on I am going to use +Wil Wheaton's approach. I'm going to use this approach in real life as well as on the internet. Means I'm going to have to try extra hard not to be a dick myself though!
Friendly reminder: I have zero tolerance for people who are dicks in life, and online. If you are a dick, for any reason, I will block you without a second thought.

Don't be a dick.

Add my band on google+ !!

Right, so Eric Pickles has announced a return to weekly bin collections, with financial incentives. Why bother? We are in a time of austerity so this begs the question where is the money going to come from? In addition I really don't understand the big problem with fortnightly bin collections.

My local council has had kerbside recycling collections for seven years now and since that has been implemented, we rarely put more than one or two small bags of waste in our regular bin (which remains on a weekly collection). The recycling bin on the other hand is collected fortnightly and is usually completely full and overflowing by collection.

We also compost our organic waste (in a composter provided at a subsidy by the council) which helps us reduce our collected waste further. To my mind the move is not an issue of cuts, but one of people resisting change and being simply too lazy to put in the minimal effort required to separate their waste into the appropriate bins.

Dragon boat racing!

Seems like more and more people that I actually know are making it on to Google+ (hi guys!). Maybe it's got legs after all!

Wow, so I haven't updated Google+ in a month, yet I'm on facebook several times a day. Unless my actual real friends get over here and start posting interesting stuff that I want to read and engage with then I'm going to end up ignoring it completely.
