Starting in on a complete set of deck plans for a small starship (a frigate). Here's the first deck, a barracks deck. Houses 10 crew in two bunk cabins.

Okay, I'm obviously on a mapping kick. Started working on a complete set of deck plans for a frigate. When it is all done, it will sort of look like the old miniature but not completely and I'll be making a new 3D model/mini for it as well.

Here's the first deck, a crew barracks deck. This is bunks for 10 crew (2 bunk cabins), a head, and an small life boat around a central elevator shaft. One square = 1 meter. The ship has 4 of these decks. 3 house the Marine contingent and the other one is for half the ship's crew.

Another re-created map. This one is of a star port terminal. The original was done by Dominic Pelletier and can be found here: http://www.starfrontiers.us/node/6399. I've reworked it using the same color scheme and style that I used to recreate the Port Loren map from Star Frontiers (since Dominic created it for that game).

I actually made 3 different versions. One with no shadows like the original. A second that assumes the long edge is north and has shadows to match the Port Loren map. And a third that assumes one of the short ends is north (a popular orientation of fans to make the large road line up on the two maps) and the shadows adjusted accordingly. Enjoy

Here are the two separate sections of the station map without the cut. I fleshed out a bit of the park area (although I think I need to go in and ad a few more trees) but I didn't do anything for the residential section. I should probably add another apartment block there.

Adding this to my Maps collection. Last night I finished recreating the station deck plan from the back of the Star Frontiers Knight Hawks map.

A question for +Google+. Why do my posts that contain links to the following three websites always vanish and disappear after posting?

- thomasstephens[dot]info
- frontierexplorer[dot]org
- newfrontiergames[dot]com
(I can't post the actual URLs since the post will vanish)

Some possibly relevant information:
- All three are indexed by your search engine.
- I have Google Analytics data for two of them (I forgot to add the code back into thomasstephens[dot]info when I redid the site recently).
- Until you required everyone to use the new Google+ UI I could post links to them.
- And as far as I can tell the IP address (they are on a shared host) is not on any spam black list.

Just trying to figure out what is going on and get it fixed. Thanks.

Need a map for the layout of a space station? I've recreated the station deck map from the old Star Frontiers Knight Hawks boxed set. Feel free to use and enjoy.

The image is 100dpi resolution with the grid being 2 squares per inch and each square equals 2 meters.

So I finished the space station deck plan map that I was working on (a digital re-creation of the map from the old Star Frontiers Knight Hawks boxed set). All told it took about 12-15 hours but a lot of that was spent working out techniques, building widgets, and matching colors. I could probably do it again in about half the time now.

The map was made in Inkscape and produced at 100dpi (although I could do higher resolutions if needed). The grid is 2 squares per inch with each square equal to 2 meters.

Enjoy.

Okay, here's the final version of the recreated station deck plan from the back of the Knight Hawks map. All told about 12-15 hours of work. Although a bunch of that was figuring things out, making widgets and generally getting back up to speed on mapping. If I were to sit down and do it again right now I could probably do it in half the time. Enjoy.
