Cool article on "How to" videos on YouTube.
I use it for cooking e.g. seafood, insights into video games, fixing plumbing, car reviews etc etc...

Often I ask people if they learned to do something on YouTube. Often they have - a wide and surprising variety, as illustrated here by +The Guardian writers.

If you want to know more about Google Flight Search, join the Reddit AMA with our Product Managers and Engineers!

Google Flights - Ask Us Anything on April 16, 3-6pm Eastern Time

I'm excited to be hosting a Reddit AMA along with some teammates from Google Flights (I'm "ThatAdamGuy" on Reddit).

What's an AMA?  http://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/wiki/index

We'll tackle questions about how we tackle the crazy complexity of flight searches, when you should book a flight (the answer may surprise you), and much more :).

Per Reddit tradition, we don't yet have a url to point you to, but will open up one about 30 minutes before the start time, and you'll be able to find it here:
http://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA

So... don't ask Flights questions in this thread yet.  But if you have questions about our upcoming AMA itself, those are fair game :-)

+Adam Lasnik wrote a great post about one of my favorite Flight Search features.

I am currently in the process of booking flights from the Netherlands to Budapest (Hungary) to attend a wedding of one of my best friends +Merijn van Oijen . I don't care about the airport I depart from (can be Eindhoven, Amsterdam, Rotterdam or even Dusseldorf in Germany), I just want to know Best flight for me.

The result is great:
https://www.google.nl/flights/#search;f=AMS,NRN,EIN,RTM;t=BUD;d=2015-06-26;r=2015-06-29

I see multiple flights ordered by direct vs indirect, price and across multiple departure airports. 1 Search that would cost me many searches otherwise! The first search result is actually a Tip that tells me that if I leave 1 day earlier I can save money :-)

What's up with those 3 letter airport codes, like "FAT"?
With this cool site I just heard about, you can discover the (sometimes weird, sometimes banal) reason behind each code.
http://airportcod.es/

Oh, and FAT = "Fresno Airport Terminal," in case you were wondering.  Yeah, I was hoping for something more interesting, too. :)

Making sure you're searching with the right airports
Nowadays, of course, most flight search engines let you do searches by city names, but that has its own challenges.  How do you know you're selecting the airport -- or airports -- with the best flight options?

With Google Flights (http://www.google.com/flights), start by typing in a city name, and then optionally click the little + icon next it (see image).  You'll then instantly learn about nearby airports and how far they are from the city center... and can add one or more to your search.

I'm a Program Manager working on Google Flights and am always curious to hear your thoughts and questions about the service. :-)

Happy traveling!

Want to know how Google Search works?

Great infographic!
The search lab. Our algorithms are constantly changing. These changes begin as ideas in the minds of our engineers. They take these ideas and run experiments, analyze the results, tweak them, and run them again and again.

Had lunch with my wife here. Great views over the marina, from the second floor. Food was excellent: fresh oysters as appetizer, tuna (large beautifully crusted portion), and mixed seafood grill (3 types of fish) as entrees, paired with regional gewürztraminer. Well recommended!

Highly recommended store. Skilled and knowledgeable staff that is helpful, and non pushy. Very helpful and efficient Drossing of less common handgun bought out of state. Out of many Peninsula stores, this one is my favorite.

One thing Trader Joe's is particularly amazing at is their house label chocolates. Great quality, very well balanced, non-commercial (e.g. cheap, milk, sugary) flavors. Well worth the exploration!
