Leonard Nimoy wasn't just Spock. He was a photographer dedicated to championing body positivity. But Facebook has banned his images.

This region is my maternal homeland. I have 7-8 generations of ancestors buried all along the Waterway.

But is it too cute for its own good? Maybe.
They've done it again. Swedish Television’s Bacillakuten, a show about health for preschoolers, has followed up their viral video about sex organs with one about conception: It's not quite as catchy as its predecessor, but ...

Reddit bans pornography posted without the consent of those depicted.
In what amounts to a monumental announcement, Reddit changed its privacy policy today to explicitly ban pornography that's posted without the consent of those depicted. Late last ...

"This is one of these arguments that has one smidgen of scientific fact to it, which is then exploded into a whole blob of nonsense."
The anti-wheat claims made by leading health crusader Dr. William Davis are based on shaky science, an investigation by the fifth estate has found.

"Brelfies" is a stupid neologism, but breastfeeding is beautiful. At least these selfies normalize something natural.
While breastfeeding is a wonderful thing, brelfies are just another symptom of how self-absorbed we're becoming.

How long can you go without posting boobs on one of your social media outlets, Tom? Just curious. ;-)

Ms. Clemitson reserves her most potent ire for the unknown agency behind the creative: "They’re like a bunch of little boys giggling at a glimpse of boob or arse, virtually masturbating over the idea of their campaigns going viral."

Well, here's your international attention, guys: You're assholes.
The Guardian's Suze Clemitson reports that an infamous sexual assault on the podium of the cycling event in 2013 has been parodied in a poster for the E3 Harelbeke race in Flanders. The poster, apparently, reads “Who squeez...

I can only imagine they wanted to cause a stir and knew the impact such words would have. I mean, it's not 1985 ... or '75 ... ow whenever.

The woman who did a striptease for a webcam in the Oregon State U library isn't even currently registered for classes. I saw a clip on a news site. Such an obvious commercial porn stunt, complete with stock poses and facial expressions.
FEBRUARY 24--Prosecutors have filed a public indecency charge against the former Oregon State University student who last month filmed an X-rated webcam show inside the school’s main library, accordin

Open-source branding. Love it!

"Tran tells the L.A. Times that he doesn’t regret trying to claim ownership of the word all those decades ago. He sees the popularity of the product as nothing but free advertising for him, especially since his company has no marketing budget."
Twenty-Five years ago, David Tran's Huy Fong Foods began selling its now-famous Sriracha hot sauce. Now the "sriracha" name shows up on Heinz ketchup, the Taco Bell menu, Pizza Hut crusts, potato c...

How strawberries gained popularity via pesticides and marketing
Strawberry shortcake, chocolate covered strawberries, strawberry daiquiris, strawberry ice cream, and strawberries in your cereal. Just delicious combinations of strawberries and things? Of course not. According to an investigative report at The Guardian, in the first half of the 1900s, ...

You can argue all you want about gas grilling vs. charcoal, wood smoke vs. pellets, rub vs. sauce, ribs vs. brisket. The great thing about Capital Appliance & BBQ is that they apparently have it all. For a charcoal head like me, there's a whole room where you can check out the different models of grillers and smokers. Many of these brands and models are things you'll never see in the big boxes or hardware stores. The focus here is on people who are serious about grilling, smoking, and low and slow cooking. Prices range from <$200 to literally thousands. This is one of the few places where you can experience true BBQ envy while checking out the more high-end and exotic models. Need to grill a whole pig? Cold smoke salmon? Feed an army? It's awesome just imagining what you could do with this stuff. One of the units looks like an old steam locomotive. Another is a large wooden cooking box, made famous by Chinese railway workers in Cuba. And then there's the legendary Big Green Egg. The service is really friendly, with people who love grilling as much as you do. Maybe even more. After all, they get to make amazing BBQ at work, in the demo kitchen in the back of the store. (It smells amazing, BTW.) Ask them about some of the neat accessories, too, like the rock salt tablet for grilling. I walked out of there with an upgrade to my simple Weber charcoal kettle. But they know I'll be back. Just visiting the store is an adventure in shopping for outdoor cooking fanatics.
