Gee! I kinda wish someone would suspend my email account. I'm suspicious of most of the activity there, myself.
The infamous Netflix scam resurfaces again along with a AOL, Comcast, CenturyLink, etc phishing pages urging the user to call a 1-800 number.

Ubuntu 14.04 will power “first commercially available Ubuntu tablets”

"Ubuntu 14.04 LTS is optimized for desktops and laptops with multitouch trackpads and touchscreens, as well as support for high pixel density (DPI) screens. This means users can make the most out of the newest hardware on the market."

Microsoft sure picked the wrong time for their second Windows stumble!

"Trusty Tahr" also brings long term support to desktops and servers.

Hello Susan, How are you? I haven't had much time for G+ lately. It is good to see you here again. :-)

Got the XP blues? Don't lament, try Linux Mint!

I don't recommend that you continue to use XP, but some will need to, until they can upgrade. Many are using XP on older hardware that doesn't meet the required specs for Windows 7 or 8. Or you may not want to spend $100 to upgrade your older computer's OS. Peace out dudes and dudettes! There is hope!

I just installed Linux Mint on my old Toshiba laptop. It was as easy to install as Windows and it is as easy to use. It runs great on older hardware too! You won't have to go near a command line if you don't want to. It also comes with a bunch of excellent, free software, including Libre Office, a MS Office compatible suite.

You can easily install it to dual boot, so you don't have to delete your XP installation. The only kink I have found so far, is with Netflix streaming. It works with a couple of tweaks, but video is a bit jerky. I'll get back to you soon with my progress on that.

There's nothing like digging into your first Linux distribution, whether you're a tech-savvy user looking to branch out or whether you're installing it on a friend's computer. But which distribution is actually better for beginners? Here, we'll delve into the differences between Ubuntu and Mint, the two most popular beginner distros, and perform a little experiment to see what new users prefer.

Too little, too late. Microsoft jumps the shark?

"Intel hopes to see its processors used in 40 million tablets this year, and 80 percent to 90 percent of those will be running Google’s Android OS"
In case it wasn’t clear already, Intel and Microsoft are no longer joined at the hip. Intel is trying desperately to grow its share of the tablet market, and with Windows flunking out on those devices, Android is where it’s at. Intel hopes to see its processors used in 40 million tablets this year, and 80 percent to 90 percent of those will be running Google’s Android OS, CEO Brian Krzanich said on Tuesday. “Our mix of OSes reflects pretty much w...
