I haven’t seen any of those “coexist” bumper stickers since I got to Texas – I’m quite sure they’re out …

Every kid in a high school band or orchestra would have died to be a part of this!

Most cities like ours have had imbedded military forces for decades, conducting exercises every few weekends here and there - the National Guard. And now, thanks to surplus military equipment from the professional military,  they and local police forces are better armed than they have ever been. And they're getting better training as well.

It can be... concerning.

Don't get me wrong - I'm not one of those who advocates that the local citizenry should be arming themselves to the teeth; I do have some faith in those who lead our country, and faith in our local militia men (and women).  But when I see stuff like this going on, it's not a far stretch to imagine an American Red Dawn scenario.

In light of all that I've often wondered where the National Guardsmen's loyalties would lie in the event of an insurrection - with the government and the constitution which they're sworn to protect, or with their friends, neighbors and fellow congregants?

If you want to keep it just for a specific group of neighbours, you'll want to make it private, and specify that people can't search for it. (You can then invite your neighbours to join without being bombarded with requests from other people who want to join who aren't your neighbours).

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't newer models have four hydrocoptic marzel vanes instead of the original six? I'm pretty sure I read that somewhere.

I think that duo-plenkit coating is what allows the reduction in the number of marzel vanes required. I'd need to read thru the white paper to confirm that though.

Just based on personal experience, but I would bet it's way higher than the 38% indicated in the article.  Of those adults that I personally know (family, friends, coworkers, acquaintances), more than 2 in 3 are unchurched "Christians".
“Churchless” Americans now make up 38 percent of the population, according to a new survey by the Barna Group.
