In geometry, a torus (plural tori) is a surface of revolution generated by revolving a circle in three-dimensional space about an axis coplanar with the circle. If the axis of revolution does not touch the circle, the surface has a ring shape and is called a torus of revolution

QUOTE: "Think of a big helicopter, a really giant helicopter. This can do the same thing that a helicopter can do - that's to say, provide air transportation for people and goods without the need for a runway - but this thing can take more over longer distances, it's cheaper and it's greener.
QUOTE: "It's a very stable, benign aircraft that responds very gently in flight, we expect it to be an unusually calm flight experience."
The world's largest aircraft took to the skies for a successful maiden voyage - its first since being revamped in the UK. The 302ft-long (92-metre) Airlander 10 - part plane, part helicopter, part airship - loomed overhead at Cardington airfield in Bedfordshire as the sun started to set on Wednesday evening.

What goes on under our cars: Vehicle Differential.

In automobiles and other wheeled vehicles, the differential allows the outer drive wheel to rotate faster than the inner drive wheel during a turn. This is necessary when the vehicle turns, making the wheel that is traveling around the outside of the turning curve roll farther and faster than the other. The average of the rotational speed of the two driving wheels equals the input rotational speed of the drive shaft. An increase in the speed of one wheel is balanced by a decrease in the speed of the other

When even doors hurt.

This one of those optical illusions which is not completely obvious at first sight. Or at least it wasn't for me. But give it a minute and then you'll see it. And then it will hurt.

Amazing

This is the most mind-blowing bike video ever.

It shows Danny MacAskill performing death-defying stunts on the rooftops of Gran Canaria (in the Canary Islands).

Must watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GL0rbxB9Lqg

For the first time, scientists have discovered a classic formula for pi in the world of quantum physics. Pi is the ratio between a circle's circumference and its diameter, and is incredibly important in pure mathematics, but now scientists have...

I go to this coffee shop nearly every day (or every other day). The staff is all very friendly and hard working. Have seldom had any issues with the internet, it's speedy and works better than most any place around Downtown. Always happily give a small tip, they are great! (and young people/students finding their way in life). The food is prepared fresh (breakfast and lunch fare) and not sent in on a shipping crate. If there are any negatives...it is that the place is not larger (it gets really busy at peak times) (they can't do much of anything about the size in this location), could also be open an hour later (but this is also understandable as Downtown clears out when it is quitting time and people run for the freeway). Give it a shot and try it, you will like it.
