Big thank you to Gig Harbor Audio and the Mosquito Fleet Winery for hosting this event. It was great to see so many folks interested in the final voyage of The MV Kalakala.

These photos of The Kalakala Ferry were taken in the final weeks of her existence.  The interior photos represent the state of the superstructure with remnants of the beauty and art deco style of her time.  The other photos, all taken at night, represent her move from where she was moored in Tacoma, Washingtons Hylebos Waterway to what would be her final resting place, The Graveyard on The Blair Waterway in Tacoma, Washington.  Once there she will be dismantled and scrapped.  Her legacy finished.  It was a real pleasure and I am very Thankful to those responsible for helping me secure passage on both the Kalakala and on the observation boat to witness her final voyage.

Well, can't argue with that! It will be odd not seeing her parked there anymore!

Took my recent Fuji 35/1.4 lens purchase for a walk around Seattle yesterday to try it out and liked it a lot.  35mm (50mm fov on my Xt1) is a little tighter than I'm used to but I liked it enough to give it a go for a while and see if I can get used to it. #fuji35mm   #fujixt1   #seattle   #cityscape

Happy Snapshooter living in the Pacific Northwest with family and surrounded by friends.
Introduction
I live in Gig Harbor, Washington with my family.  I love photography, hiking and camping and feel really fortunate to live in the Pacific Northwest.

I photograph almost everything and have no discipline when it comes to having a "defined body of work".  I use to care about that but I don't anymore.

I tend toward reportage style photography and love environmental portraits of family, friends and strangers doing their thing.  Landscape and Architectural photography are also frequently on my list.  I really love black and white but some photos just require being in color.

I like post production work in Lightroom and Photoshop and never mind sitting in front of the monitor tweaking the tones just so to get the image I want.
