+Daniel Foré sorry, i mean not "open with" (the XDG way) not clicking the photos inside file manager but just "open photos" ready for enhancing just like that "set as wallpaper"  trolling :) anyway, not a big deal

Working quite nicely already.
In case you're wondering, the rather ugly scrollbars are from Mx, Gtk can't be used inside gala. I'll probably replace them with a custom implementation later.
It is actually supposed to be a standalone chat by design, which it now is.

I managed to compile on Luna with 3.4.1, execute gala --replace, but can't see difference,  maybe the version 3.8 are the reason. I will try to install and compile again.

Compilation succeeded - 133 warning(s)

indicator-synapse now supports contextual actions. Just hit the left or right arrow to show up all available actions and hit it again to hide them. Or just ignore them and continue using the default action with enter.

In the future, the shape of the submenu could get changed to resemble a popover more closely, but not for now.

+Tom Beckmann Also the blue line on the first search result comes out of border when searching. Is there a fix for that? Its the only problem i see and sometimes its a turn off, can I fix that?

W are so incredibly proud to release elementary OS “Luna”.

Users can download Luna from the elementary website using the simple pay-what-you-want button on the homepage. Physical Luna CDs, as well as branded t-shirts and stickers, are now available and ship out starting today. If you pre-ordered a Luna CD, it is already on its way (or may have arrived; check your mailbox)!

It’s been a long road to Luna, but we’ve arrived in better shape than ever. Congratulations and our sincerest thanks go out to the entire community for riding along on this incredible journey.

Reposting this a little bigger as some people already asked for it previously: I came up with a small workaround to make per app dark theme possible without having to hack the app's code yesterday: http://pastebin.com/SSZANSw9 Instructions are found in the file.
(Note: still only works if you have a theme that actually supports dark themes)

+Marvin Frommhold AFAIK sublime text does not use gtk+-3. This trick is just for gtk+-3 apps

For those who are running a system which can install libmutter-3.8+, we're looking for testers for this branch https://code.launchpad.net/~gala-dev/gala/mutter38/+merge/179604 . Gala should behave the same as in luna, we're looking for any differences.

Two known things:
- Gala may not start on system startup, in that case you'll need to start it from a tty with the "-d :0" option
- there might be greyish flickering while switching workspaces

Short how-to on how to get this gala:
$ bzr branch lp:~gala-dev/gala/mutter38 gala-mutter38
$ cd gala-mutter38
$ mkdir build
$ cd build
$ sudo apt-get build-dep gala
$ cmake .. -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/usr
$ make
now you can run gala with "./gala --replace", or you can install it with "sudo make install", which will make it default and can be executed with "gala --replace".

Rumors & Speculation  -

Holidays = New features time

There are some ideas about facebook-messenger-like chat heads, so I started implementing a prototype with telepathy based on gnome-shell code. In case you want to try it, you can't. It depends on a number of different unfinished, partly not published, branches for saucy. At this stage it's more a proof-of-concept anyway, I haven't had an official mockup to implement for this yet, that's why it's looking rather messed up. But aside from that it's working already :) And if you're wondering, yes, there'd be real heads instead of generic ones if you'd chat with someone with a profile picture and not an IRC channel. Most of the features are still to be discussed, like moving, revealing, actual appearance and so on, but I heard our designers have a doc on this somewhere in the works.
Also, if you're shocked that we even consider moving away from the traditional window chat, it is being implemented as gala plugin (plugin support for gala coming too), so you 'll easily be able to turn it off and chat like you used to.

I want to do an experiment, nothing official, just because I'm interested in the results.
Please comment on this post with the feature that you want the most in elementaryOS or the bug that annoys you so much that you desperately want it to get fixed.
Ideally other people would then +1 the comments for those issues that concern them too, so one comment per issue would make sense.
I guess I could just check launchpad for this too, but I think this is more fun, more personal and hopefully more accurate to what people really want :)

Also, don't write "Luna release", that's not a feature.

Minimizing windows is only downwards. I have plank at the left side. And minimizing to the corresponding icon would be nice.
