The reviews are correct... It does have a fishy smell. It did take quite a while to get our food. But the food was great, the menu has great photos and is easy to order something new. The atmosphere was average, and the price was fair. It's the closest sushi to us so we'll be going again.

NO Hibachi here. False advertising. We were told "oh...I don't know why the owner did that". Also, the restaurant has a wierd fish smell that no sushi lover would enjoy

Restaurant is very clean, and the smell of delicious food was in the air. Although the restaurant isn't the most glamorous looking, the Sushi was one of the best I have ever had. We had the Tuna (uncooked) , the Spicy Tuna (uncooked) and Grouper (fried) All Sushi rolls and was Delicious!! I was turned off by some of the reviews I have read, but found them to be untrue. Yes, we tried only the sushi...but I have to say again, it was nearly the best I have had... Also, the waitress was very nice, very humble and smiled every time she looked at us. this is nice to see, when some places are hard to get that pleasant attitude from server. I would go to this restaurant again...very soon! Next time if the weather is nice, I will sit outside by the water and fountain that is out there.

Do not even try this place! I feel sooooooo bad for all the people snatching up the groupon for this place. That is exactly what happened to us. They must be paying people to write their good reviews because this place blows. If I was not cheap, and hadn't already purchased the groupon we would have walked out immediately. The first thing you notice is the smell, not a good sign for a sushi place. Also, take a peek in the kitchen, just off to the left when you walk in to the dining area, nasty. The sushi was room temp, and not good at all. I was praying we would not get sick. Please avoid this place. I hope it shuts down so they can put something nice in that shopping center. IF you want some good sushi try Blue fugu in the st pete beach publix shopping center or Basil leaf thai a little further north on gulf blvd.

This review is very suspicious. I am even not sure if it is one of our customer. You put the same review on the all different websites under different names (Josh M., Stewe W, or Jimmm ). So you are hiding your real face. and trying to put down our business? you should know we will never allow it to anybody and if you really had bad experience as a customer with us we are always ready to work on it.

Worst service I've ever had. They took forever. My boyfriend got all of his dinner an entire hour before I got my dinner. The sushi wasn't even any good. I could get better from Publix. The eel was rubber and undercooked. Their compensation? 20% off. Do not go there. They are the worst

Upon walking in the smell was off. I couldn't lay my finger on it. The menu is expensive and limited. We order a boat of sushi. It came with soup and salad a plus. But the boat came out too fast. Which lead us to believe it was premade. The sushi wasn't on ice and the sashimi was questionable in its freshness. Just didn't taste right. We hope we don't get sick. Not going back... :(

I love this place. Owner & employees try very hard, and that's the cornerstone of any good, clean joint. I like that they keep the place small to keep costs down, so don't expect lavish surroundings. I had the tempura mix platter and salad. Japanese salad dressing is awesome so don't miss that. You could eat the tempura until you die it's so good. I think the quality of food is the testament to this place. Their sushi bar is large, and appears to be a nice place to sit and talk and enjoy life. If you're into sushi, I've never seen a better setup. Been going there since it opened, and never had bad food or experience. Some waitresses don't speak very good English, so take your time when ordering. They really take pride in their work and that's what I look for. I'm going again tonight. Just can't get enough.

I have lived across the street from Tokyo Bay Restaurant for many years. But I would go anywhere for great sushi! This place truly is the best sushi restaurant anywhere! Seriously they have the best sushi and it has always been the best! And I am very lucky to have them close by.
