Break Down: So think about it. If you’re a bad sleeper and we know that after a night of little or no sleep your body burns less energy the next day. If you take in more energy from bad foods that you expend everyday you will gain fat. Sub-optimal Sleep Patterns + Bad Food Choices = Perfect Internal Environment for Weight Gain.

5 Reasons you are losing muscle and becoming "skinny fat".

1. You don't consume enough protein. Regardless of what that wrapper says if it doesn't contain all 8 essential amino acids you do not get the same benefits as eating a complete protein.

2. Your "low carbohydrate diet" is really a no carbohydrate diet. Carbohydrates are not to be feared, each and every macronutrient has its place and function within the human body. Carbohydrates help with the process and absorption of those essential amino acids.

3. You aren't hitting the weights. Day after day, week after week of those cute 5 lbs dumbbells aren't challenging. Remember the more skeletal muscle you have, the better your metabolism, the leaner you'll be.

4. You don't sleep. Sleep is your bodies chance to rejuvenate itself every day. If you don't get quality sleep you will run down your body from the inside out and never reap the benefits of your good eating and hard training.

5. You hit the Bar more often then you're under the bar. Alcohol disrupts the body's natural hormone levels. This in turn disrupts sleep, recovery, and most importantly your sex life.
