Ok. This 'comeback' is ridiculously badly managed.  I managed to post a 'new' photo that, somehow I had already shared here - who knew...

This one is new, foreshore...

Cheers - Todd

This one is by +Sarah Sisson - she should be posting it really, but she is late to work again....

There's some more shots from this misty morning over on the blog today - along with a brief mention of farm animals....

A sunset storm at sea, viewed from Punakaiki's world famous 'pancake rocks'.

Head to the blog to read how bad parenting and a lack of respect for safety barriers made this image possible...

Cheers! Todd
ps - glad y'all liked the lupins shot yesterday too :-)

Yeah, probably not, which is really too bad. :\
You know what's even better than crepes, though, is that they look like stacks of Wheat Thins. Yep, I got a box of them the other day, and when I looked in the box, I saw that the crackers had organized themselves into mini stacks (some were up and down, others were side to side) and I thought of Sarah's photo.
Those really should be "Wheat Thin Rocks". Do you think Wheat Thins has a translation to Maori?

There is a minor miracle at work behind the making of this image - it should never have worked!

Find out why: http://bit.ly/1eutWKD

Hint: I take the professional out of professional photographer

I really suck at this social networking thing - thanks to all of you who commented on my 'comeback' post (that I promptly forgot I had written a week ago).

Here's something a bit different from me - B&W conversion courtesy of my gorgeous wife +Sarah Sisson.

The Moment...!! The Reflection, Refraction,  adding Color and the halo over the Mountains...Accent the Natural beauty of the Lupins. The timing the Angle and composition compliments the Photographer. What a Gift...!!!

An arty rant by my lovely wife +Sarah Sisson  - nice shot Sarah!

This photo is from a series I am working on that taps into my long held inner desire to be a painter! Ever since I remember I have longed to be able to paint but I am too impatient (which may just be a good excuse for having no natural talent) at the style of painting I'd like to do : )
Back in the film days I experimented with multiple exposures to try and achieve a sense of 'the feeling' about my images rather than capturing an actual moment. Often as a photographer I find that it's the other senses around me - the warmth in the air, the smell of a place, etc that I want to convey in an image.
Finally last year, after lots of failed experimenting (and still plenty now!) I have found a style that suits me - an in camera movement style that gives the results I'm after. I like the simplicity of making a shot in the camera, at the time and then simply tweaking the colours or clarity to suit.
Don't get me wrong - I actually LOVE editing photos but I get plenty of chance to do that in the more traditional work that +Todd Sisson  and I do.
Anyway it's good to find a side of photography that's personally fulfilling again. : )
