Although many of you have very astute security departments in your organizations, I thought I'd pass on this article that does a great job identifying 'the hacker.'  I hope you learn something.. ;)

Nice overview, plus the article also mentions the origin of the term 'bug' when referring to inventing/creating...

For anyone interested, this is going to be an incredible hangout.  Jeremy is the real deal and an awesome guy.
We're thrilled to announce Jeremy Hanks — founder of GearTrade, Doba, DropShip.com, and LaunchUp.org — will be hosting our next Beehive Startups Online Town Hall.

The Beehive Startups Online Town Hall is an opportunity for everyone within Utah's startup community to come together to talk about how we can continue to build a vibrant, collaborative, and inclusive entrepreunrial ecosystem.

We first started thinking about this event a few months ago at an event titled "An Unplugged Evening With TechStars and BoomStartup," hosted by Alex Lawrence (who also happened to host of our first-ever online town hall) and Startup Ogden.

After being asked how Boulder has been able to market themselves as such a prodigious startup community, David Cohen, founder of TechStars, said, "You want to know why people think Boulder's startup community is thriving? It's because it's all we talk about wherever we go. We've managed to get people to believe it." We hope this event will lead to many more conversations about what makes Utah such a unique and awesome place to live, work, and start a company.

The event will take place via a Google Hangout On Air. Those watching will be able to submit questions and participate in the discussion through Twitter (use the hashtag #BeehiveTownhall), Facebook, and the discussion board on the event page.

There will also be an opportunity for anyone who would like to come on the call to ask our host a question directly, or to otherwise engage in the discussion. Only 10 people are allowed to be on a Google Hangout On Air at one time, which means we will be dropping those who have already asked a question, or participated in the discussion, off of the call to make room for others who would also like to join the conversation. Everyone will still be able to watch the call and submit questions, whether they choose to join the conversation or not.

We invite you to join us as we learn from our host, and engage with entrepreneurs throughout this great state. Together, let's build a startup community we can all be proud to call home.

My heart started racing just watching this.  I've seen guys free climb The Nose, but this takes it to a whole other level.
I guess one thing going for him is that he didn't have a rack to weigh him down.

Here's a great video summary of last Friday's Code Camp.  It was a huge success with more than double the participants of last year's event.  Tremendous participation from Southern Utah Middle and High Schools.  Great teams, ideas, fun, food and prizes.  SUU & DSU both gave away scholarships to their summer coding camps!

Not sure if you got the message, but Tech Up was moved to next Friday 18th), same place, same time.  It's gonna be amazing.  We have Jace coming up from YDraw.  His story is amazing.  Be sure to pass the news on to any of your creative folks as well.  He's a biz dev guy that saw a need and filled it, now being the #1 company in his niche.  Also, in the process, bringing 2 Disney animators residing in StG who had lost jobs to 'digital animation,' one of which was working at WalMart.

+Bill Aulet explains how proximity and ease of access to gathering spots is key to building a community, "you need to be able to easily come together to share your ideas and findings."

For you programmers out there.  Thought you might find this interesting...  I was lost 11 words into the article, but thankfully I can read pictures & graphs! via #AustenjAllred
