In the temperate zones of the Earth, late summer into autumn has been a time of celebration in many cultures. This is the time when all creatures breathe a sigh of relief as the hard work of growth slows. The cooler air transforms summer's searing rays of sunshine into loving, golden warmth.

Politicians are all corrupt; those few who do initially join to "help the people" either soon get corrupted, or are mulched out of the system. None are more corrupt than those who are at the very top of American politics; the so-called "survivors." Some politicians made the mistake of admitting their own wrong-doings, and others have "whistleblow"-ed on the corrupt nature of American politics.

The Cornpone Travesty of Democracy

+Bernie Sanders and  Donald Trump were cheated out of Iowa victories. If you can't read the facts around this election, compare it to the last one, and see this, you're not very good at math, or at spotting corruption.

I finished my MIT degree requirements in 2.5 years. I am very good at math. And I worked for the Estimator of The Capitol, with the specific responsibility of finding fraud in the construction and repair of Congress and Senate buildings, and I am very good at seeing fraud.
Hilary's Iowa victory is meaningless, the result of a chaotic mess that saw only 171,000 people participate vs. 240,000 last time around...even though Bernie's crowds have been much bigger than Obama's.

That indicates to me that perhaps 100,000 people were disenfranchised.

Count the paper ballots?

We can't. There weren't any.

And you want to trust the party that does this with the management of the entire country? How idiotic. Especially after seeing what the all Democratic elected officials have done with Chicago, a few hours drive northeast of Iowa.

We can assess the legitimacy of media by whether they report the travesty of democracy or not.

Well done, +USA TODAY.

They laugh at you, but you came through on this, a litmus test of journalistic integrity.

Short-term decision-making, relentless cost cutting, staff reductions, squeezed operations, lower investment, crippled innovation, a dispirited workforce, reduced benefits and pensions for employees, mindless mergers, closed factories, off-shoring of production, increased debt, reduced ability to compete, declining rates of return on assets, rampant illegality in the financial sector, excessive financialization of the economy, and secular economic stagnation.

Americans are beset by complex, intractable, ’hard’ problems that don’t have a clear villain: technological change displaces workers; globalization and the rapid movement of people destabilize communities; family structure dissolves; the political order in the Middle East teeters, the Chinese economy craters, inequality rises, the global order frays… There’s no all-controlling Wizard of Oz to slay.

David Brooks proposes his own single solution: public institutions. ‘If we’re to have any hope of addressing big systemic problems we’ll have to repair big institutions and have functioning parties and a functioning Congress. We have to discard the anti-political, anti-institutional mood that is prevalent and rebuild effective democratic power centers.’
