Bomber Hut - in the Talkeetna Mountain Range. Amazing people, amazing views and amazing little huts to spend the evenings in.

That church almost looks like another peak. I'm not sure how I feel about that. Should the church stick out more?

The view from my tent the other day at Matanuska Glacier. It's hard to believe how big the glacier really is from this view.

Thanks to +Benro for the legs on this trip!

When you’re in a unique situation (like a helicopter ride), and you spot something rare (like an iconic ballpark aglow), you shoot your heart out and hope for something great. Thanks to the CC Photography plan, photographer Toby Harriman knew he could #StayOutThere and capture this illuminating shot. Find out how he did it: http://bit.ly/1BMz9O8

Having no return ticket home from Alaska is starting to feel like it was meant to be. This place is so incredible and there is way way to much too see.

The very first day, we ended up at REI to get our bear spray and stove fuel. What we didn't know, is that we would become friends with some of their incredible staff. Couldn't have worked out better.

So after we returned back from the Denali area, we met back up with our new REI friends and they took us on an epic two day adventure, ice climbing at Matanuska Glacier. Wow, I'm hooked!

Here is Sarah climbing a pitch on our second day.

Big props to everyone we have met along the way, I never expected to meet so many people willing take us in and even join us on parts of our journey.

If you want a behind the scenes view of our adventure, be sure to follow along on snapchat @tobyharriman.

There is something to be said about traveling by train. Winding through emerald forests at a pace steady enough to enjoy the stillness of a land so untouched only as an onlooker, a passerby, a witness to the serenity. After a week in the backcountry a day of recharging and mimosas was just what the doctor ordered. Thanks for the hospitality, +Alaska Railroad Corporation. As always, your staff has affirmed the generosity of Alaskans... And we had a blast 👊🏼

Snow dance!

I feel so fortunate to have a friend (@sairy_rose) that is so awesome, easy going and willing to do anything, especially while traveling. We are both just along for the journey, no matter what gets in our way. If it's snowing, hailing, raining, carrying heavy packs, camping, hosteling or hitchhiking with randoms, neither of us have stopped to second guess any of it.

24 was an incredible year and my first year as a full time photographer out of school. I can't wait to see what 25 brings.

Thanks everyone for all the love, I can't wait to keep sharing all the things I have coming up.

Humbled In Our Smallness

Such an incredible five day backpacking trip.
The past month I have only had my computer once, as we have been leaving it in Anchorage with friends. That being said, I have been using my in camera wifi to transfer photos over to to my phone so I can share something. I have been really disappointed in the quality and colors I have been getting though. So it is nice to finally sit at Middle Way Cafe (Definitely been here to much. It's our favorite place with great food and great coffee) and edit some photos on a screen bigger then my phone.

This photo is taken above Mint Hut, which was our first of three huts on our five day backpacking trip, the Bomber Traverse. Almost felt like we were in Switzerland up here.

Wow!

The past five days have been exhausting, revitalizing, and incredibly amazing. We did a backpacking trip called Bomber Traverse, including three incredible huts and some of the most beautiful mountain scenery I have ever seen. Each valley we hiked over and through felt like a different country.

The final evening at Snowbird Hut, we were graced with some of the most beautiful low clouds filling the valley below. I can't wait to process the timelapse.

Huge thanks to our new friends Jussi and Drew for the hospitality and epic adventures.

Onward!!

From an incredible heli tour with +Saltwater Excursions, LLC yesterday in Whittier, Alaska. When I found out they flew over a glacier with my last name, I knew it was meant to be.

Harriman Glacier is an 8‑mile long glacier in the U.S. state of Alaska. It trends northeast to its terminus at head of Harriman Fjord, 16 mi northeast of Whittier, Chugach Mountains.

Glacier Hammocking? Check. First time ice climbing? Check. Spending the past few days hanging out with friends we met working at REI. Check.

This journey has been insane, the people are all way too nice and I may never leave Alaska.

Special thanks to Jussi and the full crew for all the knowledge and hospitality.

This trip is such a trip. Sometimes I have no words!

This day may have been the most epic so far. +Era Helicopters flew us out over North Fork to Yanert Glacier.

ps. can't wait to have access to my RAWs. The quality may be fuzzy :/

I have been snapchatting behind the scenes everyday, so follow along: @tobyharriman

If I had to choose one thing in life, it would most likely would be flying!

The past few days have been insane. 3 or 4 days ago (loosing track of time) we almost left the Denali area to head south towards Seward. But indecisive decisions and nice weather finally making an appearance, @sairy_rose and I decided to stay for a few extra days. I am so glad we did. We almost left again yesterday as well, but I waited to get a specific shot. Another decision made that then led to a flightseeing tour and glacier landing with the incredible team at +Era Helicopters. Probably one of the most incredible flights I have been on, especially getting on the glacier, next to some blue (extremely blue) lakes.

It's hard to believe we are now more then two weeks in. I can't even fathom how epic the rest of the trip is going to be and what left turns are going to be thrown our way.

The next day or two will be traveling and a much needed backing up day. Definitely not as backed up as I need to be :/

Introduction
I am a creative 23 year old, studying Web Design and New Media at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, California.

When I am not glued to my computer screen, working on my academics, you can find me roaming the city or hunched under a pier, trying to capture a moment. I also enjoy finding and interacting with other artists, learning and discussing new ways to follow our passions.

I grew up in Aspen, Colorado, where I had the opportunity to enjoy skiing, golfing, biking, playing hockey, as well as other outdoor activities. Combining those experiences with the city life has been a wonderful complement.

I left Aspen to go to The Holderness School in Plymouth, New Hampshire. That was an awesome high school experience because that is where my true interest and passion for the arts and design developed and were nurtured.

I am now living my next adventure, here in San Francisco, working to perfect the way I use technology with effective design.
