In 15.04 with plasma 5 I can no longer use Ctrl+Alt+F[n] to get back to a shell tty. This was really useful to me before, especially when the Ui had issues. Can someone provide me with some guidance on the problem?

thanks. I've noticed that when I do the key combination I am seeing a new process of agetty running.
When I run "ps au | grep tty" I see the following:
root 1107 3.0 0.8 223924 109184 tty7 Ss+ 18:57 5:58 /usr/bin/X -core :0 -seat seat0 -auth /var/run/lightdm/root/:0 -nolisten tcp vt7 -novtswitch
root 1167 0.0 0.0 15856 1876 tty1 Ss+ 18:57 0:00 /sbin/agetty --noclear tty1 linux
root 25051 0.0 0.0 88920 3492 tty2 Ss+ 22:11 0:00 /bin/login --
root 25111 0.0 0.0 15856 2040 tty3 Ss+ 22:11 0:00 /sbin/agetty --noclear tty3 linux
tjaart 25343 0.0 0.0 9492 2124 pts/5 S+ 22:12 0:00 grep tty
So it looks like the ttys are there but my desktop is not switching to them.Jul 21, 2015
