TITANIC BELFAST ranked as one of the top destinations in the UK by Skyscanner.
"Seldom has a museum become so popular and become such an icon of a city so quickly as the Titanic Belfast.
Dedicated to what is surely the world’s most famous ship to ever sail, this striking modern structure is located on the land formerly occupied by the Harland & Wolff shipyard, the firm who so proudly built the ill-fated Transatlantic liner.
The museum’s main appeal is in telling her story from numerous perspectives, but also look out for information on her White Star Line sister ships RMS Olympic and HMHS Britannic, as well as Belfast’s maritime history at a museum with a whopping 12,000sqm of floor space."

A Fateful Encounter

On this day in 1911, Olympic (Yard No. 400) was badly damaged on her fifth voyage following a collision in the Solent with the Royal Navy cruiser HMS Hawke. Olympic’s voyage to New York was cancelled and the vessel was eventually sent to Belfast for accident repairs to be carried out, forcing Harland & Wolff to delay the completion of Titanic. Interestingly, Olympic was under the command of Captain Edward Smith at the time of the incident, the man who would go on to captain Titanic on her maiden voyage.

Titanic Belfast, the world’s largest Titanic exhibition, has been named Europe’s Leading Visitor Attraction at the World Travel Awards 2016. The project, which occupies the same spot where the Titanic was built and launched, pipped the likes of the Acropolis, Eiffel Tower and La Sagrada Familia to the top spot - The Daily Telegraph

Titanic Belfast named King of the World!

We are delighted to have just been crowned the ‘World’s Leading Tourist Attraction’ at the prestigious World Travel Awards in the Maldives!

Having already beaten the Colosseum, the Acropolis and the Eiffel Tower to become Europe's official Leading Tourist Attraction, we've now sailed our way to victory, becoming the World’s Leading Tourist Attraction!!

With over 1 million votes cast from over 216 countries in the awards, known as the ‘Tourism Oscars’, Titanic Belfast was awarded the title after beating off stiff competition from eight global finalists - including Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, the Las Vegas Strip, USA, Machu Picchu, Peru and Guinness Storehouse, Ireland.

It is the first time an attraction from Ireland, North or South, has won the prestigious accolade.

I once saw the Titanic exhibition when it toured the US. It dealt with the tragedy and end of the ship from the boarding to the iceberg and aftermath. This exhibit shows it from the other end. The pride and building. The life and work of thousands to get it built and launched. At the end it dealt with the death of the ship and discovery at the bottom of the Atlantic. Several floors of knowledge. Worth the trip and very well done.

It is a beautiful building and a great museum. Depending on if you want to read every plaque it will take more time. I can believe that it can get quite busy but we were there off peek season. The ride was also quite nice though if you're not native English speaking I imagine it quite difficult to understand. Besides all the life's that were lost it also makes you think about the loss all the workers felt in addition as they spent 5 years pouring all their work into the ship. Very interesting not just for those who love everything Titanic.

Very impressive museum, went into great detail into the history of Belfast and of the process of building the Titanic. The museum itself was modern, clean and easy to navigate. I would have liked to have seen more information surrounding the sinking and moments crash but otherwise thought the museum painted a detailed, clear picture of the Titanic's short life and time surrounding the sinking. Would definitely recommend seeing this museum if you are visiting Belfast.

Great place for Titanic lovers. It teaches you more about the construction of the ship. And also dedicates a section to the deceased. It's beautiful and is well built.

This is the best self guided exhibition I've ever done. It is really detailed and gives a great sense of the achievements made under harsh working conditions by the people of Belfast. Well worth the money. It loses a star because we went at an off peak time and the place was far too full. It wasn't comfortable to move around they let too many people in at once.

At first I wasn't interested in going to this especially based on price of 17.50 pounds. Plus paying to park. However with so many positive reviews I had to go. I am glad I did. Very well done. Spend easily 3 + hours there . Admission also to smaller boat that taxied first and second class passengers from dock to the large titanic ship. I loved the end when they had the footage of exploration of the sunken ship. Voted as one of the best museums In Europe.

A lot better than expected! Very interesting and the ride was a good surprise. The Discovery centre at the end is well worth a visit after the main bit.
