Tried FlixBus for the first time today, from Odense to Copenhagen and back. Costs under a third of what DSB would charge (half if you book late). Basically makes it affordable for us to travel again, since DSB eliminated the family ticket option. It'll be a FlixBus summer.

May 25th. Remember to carry a lilac/purple towel today. The towel for Douglas Adams ( http://towelday.org/ ), and the lilac for Terry Pratchett and Alzheimer's ( https://wiki.lspace.org/mediawiki/Glorious_Revolution ).

https://endsexualexploitation.org/articles/victory-steam-remove-sexually-explicit-violent-videogames-platform/ - How sad and thoroughly disappointing that Valve / Steam gave in to pressure from the likes of Morality in Media. Puritanism is vastly more destructive than any video game or movie could ever hope to be. There is nothing wrong with pornographic video games, just like there is nothing wrong with violent video games. Or books, or comics, or movies, or music, or even upcoming VR experiences. Nobody is being forced to consume this media. If you don't like it, opt yourself out. Don't force your views on others.

These socks started out the same size (EU 35-37). The one on the right has been through the washer and dryer, and now fits our daughter's foot (EU 31). Yes, they were washed and dried according to directions. Sure they stretch back out a bit again, but it looks bloody ridiculous.

Titanfall 2 ( http://respawn.com/game/titanfall-2 ) is quite good. Lots of vertical movement, with many instances of misjudging a jump and falling to your death - but the checkpoints are very forgiving, so you can fail at the same jumping/timing sequence multiple times per minute, until you eventually get it right. Definitely a campaign designed around the movement system, but still a perfectly fine story and good mechanics. And there's apparently also multiplayer, though I didn't bother with that - but if they make a single-player campaign expansion or Titanfall 3, I'd buy it. Rating 8/10.

Anon ( https://imdb.com/title/tt5397194/ ) is pretty good. Has a solid premise, good pacing, great atmosphere, fine actors, and a timely message. I only wish the ending had been a bit braver. Rating 8/10.

I've now read all ~54000 words of the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council ( http://data.europa.eu/eli/reg/2016/679/oj ), better known as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

The regulation is easy enough to read. There is no obtuse or overly spelled out legalese. The terms are well defined. And best of all, I don't disagree with any part of it. It codifies what should be industry best practices anyway.

Some have complained that it is written by people who don't understand how computational data processing works, but I don't see that - on the contrary, it allows for technical limitations in how much we can comply. And, it is written to also apply to manual data processing - no meat-machine loopholes.

For those wanting to read it, the first third of it is not normative and can safely be skipped. It's a collection of desires that the regulation should cover, with some paragraphs copied almost verbatim to the actual provisions. To read the actual law, start from "Chapter I General Provisions".

http://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-44046472 - "The rats and mice were voracious, eating birds alive - albatrosses, petrels, prions; anything they could get their teeth into, and that included chicks that were often several times their own size." - the mental image of rats bringing down a grown albatross is quite something. I assume they meant mostly eggs and chicks.

Successor's Promise ( https://goodreads.com/book/show/36701179 ) - As with the previous books, nothing really happens. So much internal dialogue, so much pondering consequences, so much repetition of those two.

After two books in much the same style, I had hoped the finale would deliver a quicker pace with some actual action...but no, it's more of the same. Plus, the various interesting side-plots get wrapped up via off-hand remarks in the epilogue. Completely unsatisfying. Well written, but doesn't respect your time.

And then it ends with a threat/promise that there will be a book 4? No thanks. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Rating 2/5.
