the book Flash Boys by Michael Lewis goes into much more detail about this case, and if accurate, the district attorney Vance needs to just admit he is way out of his league & let this poor man try to piece together a life again. huge FAIL of the legal system.
The ruling sets the stage for state prosecutors to either appeal the decision or let Sergey Aleynikov’s six-year legal odyssey through the courts come to an end.

In a stunning discovery that overturns decades of textbook teaching, researchers have determined that the brain is directly connected to the immune system by vessels previously thought not to exist. The discovery could have profound implications for diseases from autism to Alzheimer's to multiple sclerosis.

"There are a lot of institutions in the US — including a bunch that perennially appear on lists of best colleges — that have had to negotiate their own religious beginnings: Duke, Vanderbilt, Georgetown, to name just a few. In the end, Buddhist-inspired Soka University may not be so different."
In less than 15 years, Soka University of America has become one of the top 50 liberal arts schools in the country, according to the holy grail of college rankings: the US News and World Report’s annual list of best colleges. #globalnation

Slavery and human trafficking are a clear and present part of today's electronics supply chain. However, it doesn't have to be. Two industry organizations are working together to move toward change.

tragic photo essay of California's drought and its effect on lakes & reservoirs
The hallmarks of these drought-drained lakes are miles of exposed red dirt and stark rocky slopes.

the first thing to understand, is that this ice cream is made ONLY when YOU order it. there is no "stock" (as one reviewer complained). flavors change, this isn't baskin robbins. so if you like being inside your little taste bud box, this is not the place for you. also, if the most important factor in ice cream is volume, then this place is not for you. however, if you're a connoisseur & have discerning taste, and are willing to pay for the highest quality ingredients, you should go to smitten. anything with TCHO chocolate is a winner. salted caramel is amazing. and the seasonal flavors are delicious as well.

beautiful, tasteful, all the right amenities, cozy, warm hospitality, unbelievable night sky under the milky way, close to Bryce. We had a room in the main house. Loved breakfast with other guests. Have been looking for ways to get back here. Highly recommend.

This is a boutique gym with all the best & most effective equipment to work out 1:1 with your personal trainer in a convenient location in Menlo Park with parking. I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything the bigger gyms offer when I come to SBM Fitness: personalized, targeted & results-oriented training, augmented with the latest equipment likeTRX, reformer, kettle bells, the latest machines, in a clean well lit, discrete environment away from the people watching vibe other gyms down the street are known for.

Beautiful park with canyons, rapids, cliffs galore. Just 2.5 hr train ride from Taipei. Then another 45 min drive into the park from our hotel. The trails are not overly difficult, but the facilities in the park not for the mobility impaired. Bring water, flashlight, hard hat, rain poncho & your own toilet paper!

I used to love this store & the staff. I shop here at least twice a week and spend a small fortune. Full disclosure: I'm also a shareholder. But in the last 6 months or so I've noticed customer service in the evening (forget trying to shop during day or evening, way too crowded) taking a nose dive. The norm seems to be for staff to start cleaning up around 9/915pm, which means 0 to 1 person to serve a lot of people lining up at the counter (meat and seafood). And there are never enough cashiers and baggers. Call me old fashioned but when I'm averaging $125/bag of groceries, I expect someone to bag it for me???
