"I hope that we, as a people, can start moving forward again. Despite all our differences and our favored candidates not winning the elections, let us focus on being united. Let us extend our hands to one another, for the greater good of our country."
To say that it has been an emotional week for us Filipinos is probably an understatement.

"Every birth is unique, and every child is unique. While preparing for this child’s birth, I came upon the website BirthingIsABlessing.com, and was “introduced” — albeit virtually — to Betty San Luis and her husband Manny. I realized that I had stumbled upon their site before but never thought to explore it — and what they offer as childbirth mentors — thoroughly.

All that changed though, as my husband and I agreed on exploring their childbirth preparation classes, and Betty’s services as a doula. Even if this is our fourth child, we knew we still had a lot to learn (or relearn), and attending the Birthing Is A Blessing childbirth class helped us a lot in preparing for Baby No. 4’s birth."
When I was pregnant with our first child, my husband and I were still based in Timor Leste. We had no access to pregnancy-related books and childbirth preparation classes there, and relied mostly on the Internet and advice from more experienced couples when it came to preparing for our baby’s arrival.

"It is a terrible tragedy when we use our free will for bad or evil, and not for good. I still can’t fathom how people can become so full of hate, and commit terrible deeds especially in the name of God and their faith. It’s sickening and heartbreaking and just plain wrong.

So I really don’t know what I can do here on this side of the world to help ease the suffering of the victims of these terrible tragedies — except pray. Let us pray. And let us trust in God’s Word..." #prayforparis   #prayfortheworld   #paristerrorattacks

There is a new kind of celebrity band in town – one that gets two thumbs-up for being family-friendly, and for being God-fearing too.

For my first philstar.com post for the year, I invite you to pause and reflect on the past holidays (or “holy-days,” as I like to call them!) and reflect on the warmth, joy and peace that comes with Christmas.
What better way to do so than to see Christmas through the eyes (and mouths!) of those who definitely enjoy it more than most of us — the children! :)

(Special thanks to all the parents who helped with this article! God bless you and your kids in a special way!)

The Christmas season officially ended for us Catholics last weekend with the Feast of the Presentation of Our Lord, but the feelings and sentiments that Christmas brings still linger in our hearts and minds.
