Whitby Chamber Art Exhibition: Art by Tina Monod in downtown Whitby
Tina Monod, Ontario, June 1, 2015 – Thanks to a special arts partnership between the PineRidge Arts Council and Whitby Chamber of Commerce I have been offered a space for exhibiting my art locally. It is my pleasure to be showing 7 paintings from my recent Okanagan Origins series. My art will be available for viewing in this historic downtown space from June 1 until August 31, 2015.
Whitby Chamber Art Project: More than just Pretty Pixels, Beautiful Art!
Every designer knows that empty space is never fruitless. Negative space also known to web designers as white space is a key component in many great visual compositions. Likewise empty walls compliment art as well. As viewers we take for granted those wall spaces that serve to support and breath with beautiful art, allowing people a space to observe and enjoy a world within a world. Artists much like design creatives are always looking for that special place to stage their ideas. Thanks to Kyle Paterson, Member Relations at Whitby Chamber of Commerce the offices of historic downtown Whitby are now sharing a love of art. This is a great help to artists.
Okanagan Origins series: My Okanagan, An Artist’s Journey
Okanagan Origins is a series featuring beautiful Lake Country, British Columbia. It is here that I grew up and enjoy revisiting. There are so many memories for me here on the ski slopes, in the valleys and forever in the colours of the lakes. I am inspired to always look for beauty here. Now I am painting and expressing these special moments for others to enjoy. Everywhere I go the sky is always its own painting, both interesting and luminescent in lighting. The pine trees always have such persuasive and dancing branches as they bend in the breeze.
Within the past year I've been lucky enough to be featured in the newsdurham -- www.durhamregion.com 3 times for my paintings and art inspired by the colours of nature. Very grateful to my friends at Metroland Media Toronto, The Toronto Star! "Artist Tina Monod puts emotion on a brush" - Durham Region News, April 26, 2015.
A new stage in this series for me "Okanagan Origins." As I get ready to sign off from these 3 paintings, it will soon be time begin the next 3 in the collection. So excited! More vibrant memories and colours await smile emoticon http://www.tinamonod.ca/okanagan-origins-series/ #okanagan #okanaganorigins #myokanagan #monod
