Skewed-Perspective Study
This started out as a sketchbook skewed-perspective study of my car interior, but I got carried away with the coloring. :)

Hey friends, it's been a while since I've posted new work. I'm currently pursuing more personal projects, particularly life drawing, and I'm hoping to start publishing yearly art books of my sketchbook work. To achieve that goal, I decided to try Patreon. This means I will no longer be posting process sketches on my old art blog (at least not until further notice). The Patreon page will be regularly updated with new work, personal advice/discussions about becoming a freelance illustrator, as well as private commissions. Thanks everyone, and I hope to see you guys on Patreon: http://www.patreon.com/salamunic

Introduction

Commercial Artist

Illustration Portfolio: www.salamunicart.com

I was born in Banja Luka, Bosnia—part of the former Yugoslavia—in 1983. At age nine, shortly after the civil war outbreak, my family moved to Münster, Germany, where we lived for seven years before settling in the United States in 1998. I finished my BFA in Communication Arts at Virginia Commonwealth University in 2006.

I currently live in Richmond, Virginia, where I create commercial illustrations for national and international clients, including: The CFA InstituteDie Zeit, ESPN MagazineGeneral MillsMen's HealthMilitary Officer MagazineMountain DewOakleyPlayboy MagazinePort AuthorityRunner's WorldScholasticThe Washington Post and many more. I have established relationships with clients in each area of the art industry, from editorial illustrations for magazines and comic books to concept art and advertising.

I taught at Virginia Commonwealth University for over four years, instructing: Concept Art, Figure Drawing, Digital Drawing, Type & Image, Sequential Imaging, Senior Project/Studio, Visual Studies: Design and Comics & Graphic Novels. I continue to serve as an educator for rising illustrators through lectures and my blog where I provide advice and show step–by–step processes. My work has received several awards from organizations like: 3×3 Magazine, Creative Quarterly, American Illustration, Richmond Illustrator's Club, Society of Illustrators of NY, Society of Illustrators of LA and Evangelical Press Association.
