DON"T MESS WITH LIGHTNING!!

You don't even need to be hit directly for lightning to be lethal. When lightning enters the ground it creates a voltage potential. The voltage decreases with distance (possibly several kilo-volts per meter) from the entry point. When standing with your legs apart, you may have several kilo-volts difference between your feet causing current to flow through your body. The current is likely high enough to stop your heart. At the very least you'll probably experience burns.
They were huddling together when the lightning struck

Last Days? Week 5 - Hell Know
The Reality of Hell
http://bible.com/events/86395
====================================

Sin at its core is basing our identity on or drawing our ultimate fulfillment from anything but God.
Soren Kierkegaard

Apart from the doctrine of Hell, you truly can’t understand your own heart.
---------------------------
How can we understand peace or love without understanding Hell?
---------------------------

Luke 16:19-31 NIV
“There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day. At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores and longing to eat what fell from the rich man’s table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores. “The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried. In Hades, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. So he called to him, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.’ “But Abraham replied, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been set in place, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.’ “He answered, ‘Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my family, for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.’ “Abraham replied, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.’ “ ‘No, father Abraham,’ he said, ‘but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’ “He said to him, ‘If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’ ”
http://bible.com/111/luk.16.19-31.NIV
---------------------------
Being "religious" without a relationship with God does not change or heart or give us compassion for others. We remain selfish. Even if we work thinking we can keep ourselves out of Hell is not complain for others but selfishness.
He'll on earth is the constant desire for something without satisfaction. Our torment is never being content with what we have. It leads us to addictions that feed the desire but still not satisfy.
God does not send us to Hell, we choose Hell when we choose to reject God.
---------------------------

Apart from the doctrine of Hell, there would be no peace on Earth
---------------------------
Hell represents justice in eternity. Without this concept of justice, now on earth would have no justice.
---------------------------

Apart from the doctrine of Hell, you cannot know the depths of God’s love
---------------------------
God's love is present on earth by the evidence of every good thing we see. Without God, nothing good can exist. Hell is everything bad and devoid of goodness.
---------------------------

Isaiah 53:10 NIV
Yet it was the Lord ’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though the Lord makes his life an offering for sin, he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the Lord will prosper in his hand.
http://bible.com/111/isa.53.10.NIV
---------------------------
We are not accountable for what we don't know. God's love is so great and forgivable. Only He knows who is saved. We must seek continue to seek God's heart willingly and with love. Our mistakes are forgiven when we seek God's love by growing our love for Him.
Rejecting Good is the ultimate sin and in doing so, we choose Hell. God doesn't want to send us there, it is up to us.
When we don't believe Hell is real, it is easy for us not believe in God's love and therefore not seek it. The truth is both exist and it is our choice.

With all the funds spent on special interest projects, when will society pressure our elected officials to put spending for education to priority?
And for CMS, Charlotte should be made to contribute to the schools and stop worrying about sports arenas and stadiums.
(Not to mention law enforcement and fire should be getting some of that stadium money)
Some local teachers desperate to fill their classrooms with supplies are turning to GoFundMe pages to raise money.

As we enter a new school year and look at the pleas for help with school supplies and wonder where all the state funding goes, maybe we look at our love of sports as a culprit and wonder if indeed it has taken away from our ability to properly educate our children.
<p style="text-align: justify;">Michael Hansen investigates to what extent public schools have a healthy relationship with football. He addresses this question by comparing the dollars invested in education versus those invested in football, and by highlighting the high rate of injuries associated with this sport. He concludes that we as a society should collectively examine whether our culture of sports—with football at the top—may be distractin...

There's regulation that helps the public for the coming good. Then there's over regulation that just turns "ugly".

America's Ugly Strip Malls Were Caused By Government Regulation

The common wisdom is that they result from “the market,” as monuments to American capitalism and consumerism. But that is a big fat myth—they have been forced into existence by government regulations: http://on.forbes.com/6269B4DbW

One of the questions I’m regularly asked is, "Pastor, can I commit a sin that God cannot forgive?"

So much to see and most of the walkways are shaded making the walks comfortable. The animals have plenty of space. Try to go during the weekdays, the animals are more active then (less crowd noise). There is an awesome kids area that you can get trapped at by your kid, but they'll love it.
