These verses from 1 Corinthians about spiritual immaturity and the roles of servants are some of the reasons why I believe denominations are not biblical. All church leaders are servants and their "churches"/denominations are servants of God. So why do we so focus on being members of this or that "church" or denomination?
We should all be together as Christ's church and each working on building people up from spiritual milk to spiritual solid food. Maybe some leaders are better with the milk teachings and others better with solid food. I also think it is difficult to get both milk and solid food messages in good balance from the same leader in 1 hour message once a week. Rather those who need milk should be with leaders skilled in those messages and those ready for solid food seek leaders skilled to serve it.
Rather than denominations "fighting" for numbers, what about beginners church and intermediate church and disciple church? Church leadership that focuses on teaching people where they are and when the people are ready "graduating" them to another church leadership for the next stage; just as Paul set the foundation and Apollos built on it.
In this way we stop focusing on man's rules that created denominations and the tension they create and we focus on building up the people to let God do the growing. #ft
